"It is not an issue about money or the level of compensation we received for a player we did not want to leave; it is about the protection of the Club's Academy programme and its development of young players, something which is of paramount importance to us at Wolves. We cannot sit on our hands and allow the events surrounding Mark Connolly's departure to pass unchallenged or unnoticed."

Priceless given that Connolly only joined from Monaghan United last summer. Anyway, whatever the ins and outs of the case this could be a good move for Mark. He was only playing Academy football at Wolves but has played every reserve match since joining Bolton. With Gary Cahill probably leaving the Trotters in January, I wouldn't be surprised if he got some first-team action this season. Meanwhile, a poster on a Bolton forum says that Liverpool were also in for Mark but he chose to go to Bolton.

At least Sammy Clingan has got the "true" flag beside him. Didn't know we poached him.
