Aaaaaggghhhhhh b0110x!

At least with our impervious defence we dont need a goal keeper!

Big task for Kelly starting 2nite.....very harsh on poor Brushy..IF we do get to a cup final no man would have deserved it more.

No problem. Stick Gavin in goals and play with three at the back. he won't let one in.

Terrible news. Ciaran Kelly could yet turn out to be the hero in our relegation fight now!

This should dent our favourites tag in the cup.....which may not be a bad thing!

Sign him up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Glass#Time_at_Carlisle_United)

But seriously, best wishes to Brushy on the recovery and hopefully CiarĂ¡n will help keep us up.

Huge blow for Brushy and the club.
Countless times hes saved our bacon over the last few seasons.
Hope he gets well soon.
At least we have Ciaran Kelly to come in,
Plenty of experience and will be well up for the challange.

Kelly is a solid keeper. Any of those who were up at the Setanta game in Belfast would have seen that. Made a good few saves.

Massive blow :(

A big task for Ciaran Kelly, but from what i've seen hes the right man to step in for Brushy at the moment and has plenty of experience as mentioned already.

Keeper did very well tonight. Came out, took at least four crosses cleanly only punched at and got away with it. Kicking was good also. He was first choice Rovers keeper under O Riordan and hopefully will do the job for the rest of the season.

Jeez i thought there was nothing wrong with his kicking might have sliced one but that was about it. Made a good save at the end from header mind.

hes a top keeper and we'll be fine. sorry to see brushy get injured, hope he will get well soon. next season until we see him again, hopefully he'll be here.

best of luck to tracksuit though, great job tonight, his kicking was fine i thought. talking to the back 4 throughout and came out and claimed alot of crossed which took pressure off the centre halves

I thought kelly done the basics well with the exception of 1 kickout . He dealt with backpasses on a bumpy pitch very well and done very well dealing with crosses and corners. He seems to read the game well, he communicates well with the back 4 and his shot stopping has always been very good. we are very lucky to have him as a replacement(i felt brushy has been a bit erratic recently). Back 4 were excellent tonight- peers is up there with the best players ever to wear a rovers jersey.

As for pats they are in serious bother-no fight at all.

If we beat galway on friday night (and we should) i genuinely think we will finish in 6th place

We have 3 good goalies. Our third choice ( Michael Schlingermann ) is a tremendous shot stopper. Did great for the Mayo minors this year, especially against Down. In that game he made 5 top class safes and he also kept a clean sheet in the All Ireland final.

Well, as we have found out it's always handy to have 3 keepers at your disposal all the time. If Schlingermann wasnt here we would have had to go to the U-20's reserves for a sub keeper.

Just read back over the thread
Where did anyone even suggest that Brush should be let go.
The general consensus is that everyone is gutted for Brushy and hopes he is back soon.
Also that Ciaran Kelly is a good keeper and that we are lucky to have him.
End of.

I think hes talking about the Chris Butler thread from a few months ago where people said he should be let go because hes injured, same was said about Peers on here as well I think.

Its going to be tough seeing as hes a defender. One bad or mistimed tackle could put him straight back out again, heres hoping that dosent happen. Hopefully Kendrick is here next season aswell,a bit of competition for Left-Back, and theres also Danny Keohane.
