used to be winner of 1st div plays bottom of prem' for a place or to stay in the prem'.

heard for this season winner of 1st div is promoted, bottom of prem is relageted, 2nd and 3rd of 1st div go in to play off against each other, and 2nd and 3rd from bottom of prem also go into play off, what happens after that

They all then send in a DVD to justify claims for inclusion in the premier.

Complicated one this year. As I understand it, Premier 8th play 9th in one-off match, 8th at home. First Division 2nd place play 3rd in similar one-off with 2nd at home. Losers of Premier play off with winner of First Division play-off over two legs. Winner is is next year's Premier......until the FAI end up relegating teams or clubs go bust.

As it stands, Drogheda would be home to Sligo and Shels home to Fingal.

Can we sticky this so we dont get another thread asking the same. We have had loads as it is. Not having a pop at the OP.

Last place in Premier get relegated.

Second and third from bottom in premier play-off to see who plays the second place team in the first division.
Second place team in first division play the winner of the above match in a promotion/relagation match. Im not sure if the matches are one games or are over 2 legs.

As it stands now.
Bray would be relegated
Drogheda and sligo in relegation play off.

UCD promoted as champions from the first division
Shelbourne play the winners of the drogheda V Sligo game in a relegation/promotion match.

I stand corrected if the above is proved as crap :D

Way off. As I said, 2nd and 3rd placed teams from the First Division play off against each other. The winner of that plays the LOSER of the Premier Division play-off over two legs. So if say Drogheda beat Sligo, they'd be safe. Sligo would then play the winners of Shels v Fingal for the last remaining spot in the Premier Division.

At moment Bray down UCD up

8th Placed Premier (Drogheda) v 9th Placed Premier (Sligo Rover) Match A

2nd Placed First (Shelbourne) v 3rd Placed First (Sporting Fingal) Match B

Winner of Match B v Loser of Match A

Loser of Match A v Winner of Match B

Yes of course, i ment the loser :D

I dont think there is a match between 2 and 3rd in the first.

I think the other thread explains it better :D

8th v 9th in the Premier; 8th home. Winner stays up.

2nd v 3rd in the First; 2nd at home. Loser stays down.

Premier Division loser plays First Division winner over two legs; first leg has the First Division side at home. Winner stays/goes up.

Thread locked as the wrong versions are just going to confuse people further.
