...used to tell this joke, well a simple pun really, about the importance of commas:

Girl, doing play, says: "What is this thing called, love?"

Girl, corrected by director, says: "What is this thing called Love?"

People currently residing in 'Boston baby', though probably too young to remember Mr Emery, should nevertheless note the huge importance commas play in our lives . :D

Dick Emery was cool. I didn't see him the first time round, obviously, but they had repeats on some channel there about a year ago or so.

thats ok james i was just trying to be smart and be an anorak like bernie who im sure realises the importance of punctuation and how its misuse can lead to alternative meanings or confusion how are things in boston baby anyway have you done the cheers bar tour and all that kind of stuff or are you just too busy sipping sodas and looking at peaches on the beaches as the stranglers might have put it oh dear there i go showing my age again guess young fellas like yourself have these quiet sniggers at the old references us wriklies throw up all the time eh bud
