Just saw the footage on MOTD2.

Fan ran onto the pitch and was tackled by stewards. As he was being dragged off, Bellamy slapped/pushed him in the face. It was stupid, there's no need whatsoever.

Thread title can be changed. It was a slap/push in the face. But either way the guy was restrained and Bellamy walked over and done it while he was restrained. Classy guy. Tw@t

always was a tw@t no need to get involved with fan and really showed his class as fan restrained by 2-3 stewards  and probally cost city a draw draging out his goal celebrations in 90 min after he equalised

Saw it on MOTD too. As has been said, no need whatsoever for him to go over to the fan. First Adebayor in trouble and now Bellamy.

That's what happens when you insist on signing arseholes.

Mark Hughes is after coming out and saying that Bellamy did this in self defence...how in god's name can that be called self-defence, there was at least 3 security guards holding the fan at the time Bellamy hit him.

also bellamy walked 5-10 yards to get involved with fan !! another story doing rounds from city angle is that bellamy thought fan was going to spit at him. !! f.a. have deceided not to charge bellamy they are just going to warn him about his future behaviour bit of a joke should have at least charged him .. seems adebayor celebrating in front of arsenal fans is more serious than bellamy punching/ slapping a fan being restrained by 3 stewards

Top peno. I presume he made his debut the next week.

I was at Dynamo v Rubin Champions League game last week, at the end of the game a Dynamo fan ran on to the (virtually empty) pitch, was chased by security, jumped back off the pitch, the security guy caught up with him and gave him the hardest kick in the balls I've seen in a long time.

Bellamy should have just walked away, but how on earth did the stewards let this guy onto the pitch? I know that Old Trafford is usually full of banal tourists, prawn sandwich munchers or those mincers who wear woollen hats and those tablecloths scarfs from next, but even so you expect better security for a high profile match. At most English matches around 5-15 mins before half time and full time extra security staff surround the edge of the pitch to prevent this. When you put this pitch invasion together with the coin thrown at Garrido* it's pretty poor from a security point of view. If they do stuff like this in the CL, given the recent history their fans have abroad (Lille, Lyon, Roma), they could well be playing games behind closed doors. Olympiacos, Atletico Madrid, Dinamo Bucharest and Dinamo Zagreb have all been forced to play games behind closed doors by UEFA for fan-related problems in the last 2 years... they are clamping down on such incidents.

*Apparently the coin thrower was aiming for Tevez but missed.

Saturn Ramenskoye v Spartak Moskva last Saturday. The Spartak striker put the penalty into the same corner. They lost 2-1

I think you have Old Trafford mixed up with a crowd from the thirties or maybe a episode of "roy of the rovers". Did you see loads of fans with wooden rattles and peaked caps as well.

i think bellamy was right. theres no place for a supporter to be on the pitch like that. high pressure local derby match where city have just seen the game slip away in the 6th min of injury time and that twit comes running onto the pitch to probably goad the city players. deserves a good beating in my opinion

Whether that's right or not, shows how brave Bellamy is that he waited until yer man was held down. I guess he wouldn't have had the golf clubs handy...

Wow, ignorant and homophobic in the same comment. You should have your own show on Channel 4.

Mincer (from websters)
http://www.yourdictionary.com/mincer

intransitive verb

1. to speak or act with affected elegance or daintiness
2. to walk with short steps or in an affected, dainty manner

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/mincer

v.intr.
1. To walk with very short steps or with exaggerated primness.
2. To speak in an affected way.

As you can see mincer means someone pre-occupied with primness, fashion and style of walk, there is a degree of similarity to what the word "toff" meant in the 1800s. I don't know how / why you are bringing any notion of sexual preference into the conversation.

And like 'camp', or even 'gay', its technical meaning is irrelevant in the face of its current usage:

Maybe you just meant it as an insult (a rather gay insult, I might add), but it is inherently homophobic in that context.

I don't think you can take that website seriously, it seems to be a parody. For instance look at this (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=minivan), a few entries on from mince:

I've never heard anyone use the noun minivan in the context of numbers 1 & 3 on that site. That urban dictionary seems to be some sort of smutty site, I don't think you can take it seriously at all.

Are you retarded? It was assault with absolutely no provocation. Hopefully the guy will press charges.
