My turn in the work syndicate this week. Throwing a few quid on a Galway, Bohs, Derry treble.

Dundalk at 11-2 to beat Bohs is tempting considering Bohs are in such bad form at the minute. 7-2 available on draw no bet.

1 Kildare v Sporting Fingal (Backing Sporting Fingal @ 1.24) - Should be an easy away win here. Only doubt would be extra time during the week but they have to win tonight. Also, can't believe Spoilsports went 4/9 during the week :O

2 Shelbourne v Limerick 37 (Backing Shelbourne @ 1.53) - Not at all confident of this one but we have to win tonight and ensure we don't fvck it up once again.

3 Galway Utd v St Patricks (Backing Galway Utd @ 2.63) - Granted Galway are ****e but the Stains are in freefall and their gaffer just quit about 2 hours ago so Galway warrant an inclusion into the bet.

Treble @ 5.03 - .50 pts staked.

Accy tonight is Bohs, Shels, Fingal, Monaghan and Drogheda x Derry. Let's see how hilariously wide of the mark I am.

Sticking 2pts on Galway at 7/5 solely because of Kenna leaving.

I'd go for Pats solely for the same reason !

I'd go for Pats solely for the same reason !So would I, people thinking Kenna leaving will affect the team in a bad way, it's usually the opposite.

Examples?

Aye. If he had quit immediately after the Cup replay, maybe. They might've had a different approach to training under the caretaker manager. But quitting on the day of a match - I can't see what good that will do for the players?

Cool, bit of pocket money. :)

Pretty much done with LOI betting now for the season unless the odd juicy tidbit comes along (teams fielding reserve sides in meaningless games, etc)

Just got a text.

Cork were due to leave for the match against pats tonight. The driver drove half an hour then pulled over and demanded payment for the trip and the money for the last two trips, total of €2,000. Players are stranded and have been calling local radio stations asking for donations to be dropped into the bus depot of by credit card . Pats 5/2 with Bet365. I'm cautious as Pats are mule but it's worth a flutter. 1.5 pts

4pts staked for me but no money in the B365 so just 2.88 with ladbrokes for me.

Wexford are 11/10 away to Athlone tomorrow with Paddy Power. Surely a gimme, given Wexford's great away form and Athlone's awful form in general (no wins in 15 I think).

Not too confident but was eyeing up Pats anyway so any sort of problems for Cork will do me.

Also going with:

Shels (-1) away to Mervue @ 11/10 2pts.
McAllister first goal @ 7/1 - if he scores twice I'll get double the odds.

1.5 pts on Pats too. 3.1 with Betfair.

As an aside, this is possibly the most bizarre LOI story I've yet come across!

Got on Pats there as well. 3.1 on Betfair, they're in to 13/8 on PP.

Had them at 4-1 when they won in the Cross earlier in the season, hopefully they can come through again.

Minimum of 5 goals in each FD match tonight in a notoriously goal-shy division. What odds would one have gotten on an over 4.5 goal quadruple bet?! Probably enough to make sure you wouldn't work for a year. :)

Shels got me out of jail last night, phew. Mervue get 2 men sent off and score 2 own goals to ensure -1 is a winning bet.

Athlone Town -V- Wexford Youths

I shouldn't really be getting involved in this match considering I have Wexford to finish ahead of Athlone in a season match bet but I just can't ignore the Youths tonight. The bookies were going 6/5 on a away win early in the week and that has now shortened with Wexford odds on. However, they are drifting on Betfair and are a very backable 2.24. Wexford got an amazing result away to Fingal on Monday evening and if they can do them then they should have no worries facing a woeful Athlone side. Athlone haven't won a game since 30th of May and they haven't won a home game since the 14th of March, their only home win of the season . In their last fixture they were playing against 9 men for over an hour and still lost. The game before that they lost 6-1. If that isn't enough for you then read this. Injury and Flu leaves “Town” struggling for Youths http://www.athlonetownfc.ie/?p=866.

Backing Wexford @ 2.24 (Betfair) 1.5pts.

Backing Wexford is asking for trouble. They are incredibly inconsistent.

In their last 2 away games they'd won at Fingal and Shels but in their last home game they couldn't beat Longford!

If you ignore their amazing results against the top 2 their recent form hasn't been great. They have an incredible ability to raise their game against the top teams - this seems to have been the case since they joined the league - I think I remember them beating Harps and Cobh the year the 2 of them were promoted.

Very true JC. On the other hand Monaghan, who are also mid table have only taken 1 pt in total from the top 4 but have only lost 1 game all season to a non top-4 team. Limerick were backed into 1.7 at home to Monaghan on Friday but Monaghan kept up their great record against non-top-4 teams.

Yeah I know but you just had to look at how poor this Athlone side are. How many games they went without a win and that the only home game they won was their very first. There was no way you could have backed Athlone going into that game unless you knew something very worthwhile.

A double on a Cork-Sligo and Derry-Bohs draw gets you about 9-1 on Betfair.
