Dundalk must pay out compensation to former player Dave Rogers by Wednesday of next week or face sanctions, a Friday morning newspaper has reported.

If they can count it under wages, they could refuse you a license over it. I don't doubt Dundalk will be made pay here.

Plus, Dundalk lost the case fair and square, do they intend to ignore the court ruling?

The court ruling came out in favour of ROgers and suggested that we pay him an x amount but it didnt say we where legally bound and had to pay him this amount. Although he will be seeking it it would seem senseless for us not to pay this amount as if it goes to court alot of legal costs will therefore accumulate!

While I might be wrong about this, my understanding was that the FAI Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) was a non-binding arbitration hearing, and therefore the award recommendation could be rejected by either party. In this case Dave Rogers would need to take further action to pursue his claim.

Its a condition of arbitration that the decision is legally binding and not able to be challenged in the civil courts. This directive is from FIFA and covers the FAI.

Dundalk appear to have ignored a binding court ruling. This is against FAI rules. I'm fairly sure they could appeal to the FAI or the court of arbitration in Switzerland but they don't appear to have done that.

Absolutely, though I am not sure that this is relevent here.

If the situation is actually as I outlined, I doubt that Dundalk (or any other club) will be rushing to meet a potential (probable) liability until it becomes due.

I have no knowledge of this (maybe others will), but I imagine that Dundalk would be receptive to such an offer if it existed.
