Clubs get licenses
First again with the breaking news...........

soccercentral can reveal that this mornings post brought some good news to some clubs from the FAI with regard to their UEFA club licence applications, even though it was not what they desired or worked for, and further that no club attained Premier Licence Status.

The clubs in question, who have asked not to be named at present, have received First Division licenses and appear to have failed to get a Premier Division licence by a close margin.

These clubs are considering appeals but will wait until the sanctions and/or reasons given are fully explored internally before arriving at any decision.

However, some other clubs have already had their mail delivered but no letter arrived from the FAI and they wait with baited breath.

It seems the letters were sent to the clubs Licensing Officers, some of who may have left for their normal employment before the postman arrived.

One club official said of not attaining the Premier Licence, "It is disappointing, we have worked very hard on getting everything in order and believed our application was strong.
We will consider an appeal but I think we'll also need to discuss the issues not only internally within the club but with each of the other 21 clubs."

It is believed that the FAI has called a press conference for 11:30am today and confirmation of this arrangement is awaited.

Licences issued:

Dublin City First Division Licence
Derry City First Division Licence
Kildare County First Division Licence
Galway United First Division Licence
Waterford United First Division Licence
St Patrick's Ath First Division Licence

It is also speculated that two clubs failed to achive any licensed status but that has not been confirmed.

I'm just curious as to who the second club might be? Kilkenny City (unlikely with their ground and structures), Monaghan (possibly) or even Shamrock Rovers (good outside bet).

Wouldn't be Longford with their accounts problems maybe?
