Yes another one of those best/worst threads, this time it's for players who always seemed to score against you or even someone who you never liked who played for you.

I'd have to go with Conor Gethins who seems to score at least 6/7 goals against us every season.

But the big shout out has to go to Davy Byrne even though he has been at the club a short time I have to say I cannot stand this guy.

Colin P. O'Brien (or simply Can't Pass) and Jamie Nolan. Both arrived from Cork (initially on loan) and spent the duration of their spell with Limerick with their respective noses in the the air (though there were other stories about O'Brien...) and at a lesiurely stroll as they dreamt of future glories at the highest level of football once their purgatory in Limerick was over.

O'Brien could at least play a bit but had the worst attitude I have ever seen in a footballer. He literally spent more time rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders than he did moving at any pace faster than a brisk walk. He once claimed a goal (robbing another player of a hat trick) when he was lying prone on his side facing away from the ball and it clipped him on the way in. Down two players to injury on the stroke of half-time against Bohs in the League Cup (last four or last eight) and holding to a 1-0 win he ignored the pleas of one and all to track back while Limerick were defending a corner. Cue the first steps on our way to a 4-1 defeat. Once described to me by a team-mate as 'biggest cult' he'd ever met. Annoyed at being dropped to the 21s at one point he turned up for the game in such an Eamonn Dunphy type of state that Dunphy would probably have contributed more (manager still made him play though).

Jamie Nolan was more of the same except he had no discernible talents whatsoever.

EDIT: Being unfair to Nolan. He had an ability to frustrate like nobody else.

Was that those freakin' play-offs?
Speaking of "that" play-off, Eric Lavine has now entered my list of cult villians, he scored one of the best goals I have ever seen in Finn Park and it broke my poor little heart :(

He wasn't when he was with us. I didn't think he did much for Shels against us in the Bowl either.

Eric Lavine

He walked out after a game in Longford when he couldn't take criticism from manager Don O'Riordsn. Lavine thumbed a lift back to Galway rather than get on the team bus.. Ironically, he then joined Longford after he was kicked out of Galway United.

A few years later, he rejoined Galway United and was dropped from the squad for not turning up for training. He rang a local radio station and was humiliated on the air.

He was shafted to Athlone.

Hynes is a good playerI'd love to see the rest of your stand up routine.

How the mighty Shels have fallen if you think that large lump of equine fecal matter is a "good" player.

He has the worst positional sense I've ever seen in a striker in the LoI.

Was it Nolan that gave the finger to Limerick fans after being taken off in a game( think it may have been Sligo).
