Last week's draw with Dundalk would suggest not. This year's title is Bohs I think.

Not a hope. Bohs have it IMO. We ****ed it all away with that draw v Dundalk.

Deserved win for Wexford tonight.
The really frustrating thing is that it must have taken Wexford about half a minute to work out our game plan. Lump the ball forward and hope something comes from it. When we played them in Wexford they had a go at us and were left exposed in the end. This time the tactics were spot on from Wallace. Sit back and allow us to keep knocking the ball forward and just wait for the oppurtunity to break. If we want to keep playing this way other teams are going to cop on quickly. I can see more of the same happening in Monaghan next week.
We hardly created anything tonight. I can think of one half chance for Bisto and a free header for Hynes. The first goal was an awful mistake from Crawley that left Sheehan through on goal. With a lot of time and acres of space there was only going to be one outcome. The second goal was fantastic but we can be standing off players from throw ins. The ball was thrown to Sheehan at the edge of the box. He was in acres of space again and he turned took one touch and curled a shot into the corner. Unstoppable.
Overall really disappointed and annoyed with that result. Wexford were alright. We were terrible.
Rant over.
The calm part of me is saying we need to just keep going we'll get out of this bad patch and we need as many people behind the team from now until the end.

Pretty accurate summary, the first half was one of the worst games I've ever been at, at least the second was a bit more lively, Youths weren't great but as you say Shels never did enough to win it, zero creativity, for once luck was on the Youths side and Sheahan finished the goals well. His second was a real peach and he looked a much better player when he scored, with his confidence up he could be very dangerous in the next few games. Overall I'm delighted. :D

I know it's frustrating to lose a game in the final minute but Derry deserved to win. Even though we didn't create many clear cut chances, I can barely remember Bray getting out of their own half in the second period. It was a dire game and neither side is going to set the world on fire anytime soon but we had all the possession and the territory. We also hit the crossbar three time (including one that looked as though it might have bounced over the line), and forced several saves from the O'Connor. I'm just pleased to leave with three points and frostbite given that normally it's dropped points and frostbite.

Some things never change.Shamrock Rovers remain thee most cynical, negative and predictable side ive ever seen. They are extremely sly in their tactics of time wasting, diving and influencing the officals etc. They dont need to play like that, they have good players and loads of resources for training etc so why do they try win games like they did tonight????Galway Utd were kinda playing like that under Tony Cousins and i hated it,now who did Tony Cousins use to play for again??:).

Baker kicked Shane Guthrie in the shin btw and Shane pushed Baker who went down as if he'd been shot and got Shane sent off, disgracefull behaviour.
Also, apparently the Shams player going off punched one of the Galway Utd stewards.Nick and an FAI offical had to intervene.

"got Shane sent off"
Guthrie kicked out or put his knee into Baker's back, it's really not that difficult to see why he got sent off..
That's seperate from the Galway player who kicked out at Sean O'Connor in the second half. A hard fought win with Sullivan with a deserved MOTM even though he didn't handle the second yellow card well.

How do those grapes taste this morning?:D
If you want to see who was negative last night, all I have to do is ask how many attempts on target did Galway have all night?
Poor game, we just nicked it.

UCD 2 -1 Limerick.
Limerick took the lead through Kavanagh after 6 minutes, a curling shot from 20 yards which went in off the far post. I thought we played some decent football in the first half, and restricted UCD to one shot straight at the keeper and one header which was glanced over with our keeper caught out of position.
Second half, UCD came out with a higher tempo, and Limerick, as they have done too often this season, stopped passing the ball and adopted a backs-against-the-wall mentality. Result - UCD goal about 5 mins into the second half, and another about 15 minutes later - a cracking shot into the far to corner, although I'm not sure it wasn't a bad cross, and another Limerick fan thought it took a deflection. UCD could have had a couple more after that, and Limerick created only half-chances.
About 5 minutes before the game started a Limerick fan went round to the side facing the stand and said he counted only 80 fans, but it did fill up a bit after that.

Pretty accurate as already been said. Gary second goal was great and hopefully his confidence will sky rocket from the two goals. Wexford were ok but it was a massive improvement on recent performances so hopefully can build from that

Sounds very like Cork, Bohs etc.. The best teams in the league unfortunately play very defensive football.
