Noel has been with the company for 25 years. He started his career as a general sports writer, but his knowledge was lacking so we 'promoted' :D him to soccer coverage, sure there was two clubs to cover and anyway, it's the GAA results that sell papers. Noel's knowledge of the Eircom league is rivalled only by foreign journalists who've never heard of it, with whom he likes to discuss 'his' club Chelsea FC. Noel has covered the top soccer tournaments all over the world, yet in spite of our never purchasing a return ticket for him, he always finds his way back to Cork.
