There's been a few crackers, but what do you think has been the best game of this century?

I'll go for the 2006 FAI Cup Final between St Pats and Derry, when the Candystripes won 4-3 in extra time. It was also the last game at Lansdowne Road.

Pats Bohs semi replay in 2003.

It was on the telly and it was a pretty exciting game to watch.

The 2006 final was also really good but the weather was atrocious which kind of hindered the game.

We're only 8.75% of the way through the century, and already we're being asked what has been the best game so far of the 100 years between 2001 and 2101.....

This site is getting more and more like TV3 on a bad day...... :D

Hey, that was a serious discussion with wide-ranging implications for the future of Irish football. And a ****-take!

First game I was ever at think it was Rovers 3-2 Longford in Richmond around 2001? Was only about 9 or 10 but that was a cracking game. 2006 cup final though apart from that.

Bray 4-3 Drogheda last season was one of the best games i've seen in a long time.

A goal of the century contender in there as well.

The football played that night was just stunning.

Apparently it was so emotional I understand that during the game Sligo fans were moved. So they keep telling us.

But for UCD fans we had a few classic 0-0's during that season alone.

For me the Bohemian 3:3 UCD FAI Cup game at Dalymount Park (HoIF), where Peter Hanrahan's (UCD) leg was shattered. UCD took the lead three times before plucky Bohs equalised. It including the remarkable slow motion site of Clive Delaney (UCD), on the edge of the Bohs penalty area, spreading his arms and completing an overhead kick that came back off the crossbar.

Our 2-2 draw with Galway at the start of the season was pretty good, we equalised in the 89th min (Ithingk) and then missed a penalty in injury time to win it. Exciting stuff.

Great game (my first, why couldn't they all be like that?) but technically it was still the 20th century in 2000.

Galway Utd 2 St.Pats 2 at Terryland Park half way through last season was a great game.I think theres highlights of it on youtube. It was so open with free flowing football being played by both sides.Pats were top at the time if i remember correctly. It was one of Kenna's first games in charge for us(Utd).

Last season's FAI cup final was pretty good too.

First one I thought of. Only time I've left a game we lost feeling privileged to have been there. A Pat's fan rang me on the way home to commiserate - he thought no one deserved to lose.

The Cup semi final Replay with Bohs was a great game, we also had a good 2-2 in Drogehda last year and probabaly not the most exciting game but beating Rovers 5-0 was great:D

For most Bohs fans it will be the 6-4 game in Santry and who could argue with them

By legend, it has to be the Santry Siro. I've heard about it so often I might as well have been there...
But since I have yet again been found out as a blow-in, I'd have to say Bohs v Bate Borisov. Instant conversion.
