Just realised the link was incorrect. Here is the correct one. Get invloved because if this one is deleted it sets a precedent for the articles for all UCD players to get deleted.

Good God, the sheer pedantry in that discussion is bizarre. People actually bothering to contend the right to existence of Roche's page on minor technicalities. It's a bit hard to follow but it seems his page was saved in the end.

Someone spent the 19/08/09 adding alot of articles but some articles are repeated, or a line-up is given when a report is promised. Well done if that's what they want to do. But the politics is demanding others to do the same. (Without even saying please!).
I think the point is that if Roche with so few LoI appearances can be kept, anyone can be kept. Although he has had an interesting career.
I think writing about sport in context is a more interesting pursuit, but some on this Forum swear by 'wikipedia' and it is their first and only reference. That's pretty sad aswell.
One problem is that if you google 'Stephen Roche' then this thread is one of the finds.[citation needed]

I suspect you mostly get cycling related pages somehow.

It's still open. These things get argued on Wikipedia's notability criteria, but with a spectacular degree of pedantism. I wouldn't bet on it surviving yet.

The articles need an overall majority of votes to say "keep" or the article is gone. Despite me voting twice, it is 8-4 in favour of delete and if nothing is added to the discussion within three days then the result is kept.
It's going to take a lot to keep it.

Very Hypocritical.
You got involved in the wikipedia debate on 19/08/2009
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...che_(football)
and were quickly corrected on your facts from the pro-Keep side.

There's nothing hypocritical about it. Your standards of trolling are slipping, Harpo.
My contribution to that debate has not included a vote to date, because I don't care any more.
I did tell Schumi why I didn't think his point about the World Student Games captancy would hold up, but noted that I agreed that the article was worth keeping.
One of the Sligo fans 'corrected me' by pointing to Roche's one appearance in the First Division, which I'd never contested. However, I noted that Premier Division appearances haven't saved other players I and that Sligo fan have voted on because of the stupid guidelines.
My contributions there are resigned, not negative.

guys - I would urge you all to register an account and help improve the articles on the players.
Here is a list of all the recent AfD's for LoI players.

As you can see most have been kept. With half an hours work I can pretty much get any article in a good enough shape that it will stand a strong chance of being saved.
But without the support of people who is registered amd vote then there is no chance of any article being kept.
