Use of the phrase "the post(bar) saves X team" when a ball hits the bar or post. The bar/post hasn't moved. The shot is off target. End of.....
Very true, I've had arguments with people who think that hitting the post is a shot on target. I'd swear I've seen stats on TV that support their opinion as well, that's the most annoying part.

I agree entirely. Also 'ballpark figure,' 'going forward,' 'meeting challenges,' and 'one to one.'

Going Forward !! Really annoys me. I have a supervisor at work who constantly uses that phrase. But the fact is, we are not going forward, but round in circles most of the time.

Yes, it's the real buzz phrase at the moment. Gift grub take the p@@@ out of Cowan about it since he is a frequent user. It has only crept in over the last year or two going back ;)

Also commentators saying when a team is promoted to the EPL "this is worth at least 40 million". They forget to add "unless they're relegated in which case administration isn't far behind".

Corporate speak. Dives me insane.
There was a recent reference in an E-Mail to me which requested if an issue could be resolved "COB".
COB apparently means "Close of Business". Why not just write "Close of Business"?
Also "In the short to medium term", "tic tac on an issue" "future proof".
Spoofers lingo.

Get that all the time in emails. Also get "COP" (close of play). Sickening stuff really.

Trevor Welch would ruin any game regardless if the commentary was ahead or not.

Haven't heard them in a long while thank feck, but that sounds like overkill to me. D'Arcy makes me more than sick enough on his own.

Football phone in shows in Ireland:mad:
Any phone in shows, which usually have people ringing in about trivia, especially Gerry Ryan and Joe Duffy. Gerry loves salacious stuff:
Caller: "Gerry, my husband loves to see me in paper panties but they're giving me a rash. What will I do?". Gerry: "Send me in a picture".

You may have noticed I have not been doing much of that lately.
As for being a smoker, not a chance. Most disgusting thing on the planet. Parents (like my ex) who smoke around kids should be shot. So horrible.
