A band.

Loosely pop-punk but diversifying with each and every album.

From Southern California (or SoCal as the kids call it)

With song titles like: 'Your Boyfriend Sucks', 'San Dimas High School Football Rules', 'I Won't Spend Another Night Alone', 'Teenage Riot' and most recently scored a semi-hit stateside with a cover of Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer'.

Known for their thoughtful, intelligent, emotionally frayed lyrics (sort of like grunge with warmth), encompassing themes like anorexia, absentee parents and those old pop-punk standbys of falling in love, wanting the girl, losing the girl and very occasionally getting the girl.

Reviled by many in muppet-punk-kid circles for having the audacity to sign to a major label (Columbia records in this case) and also to make music that it's possible to appreciate even if you are in your twenties or *gulp* even older than that!
