Is there any way you can unlock a "3" phone?

I'm sure there's all sorts of internet ways of doing it, but there's plenty of shops in Dublin that will do it for 10/15E.

If you've had the phone long enough, they should do it for ye in the 3 shop.

if it's a 3G phone, it might not work on Meteor's network

balls. I rang 3 and they told me I have to put in €30 credit before they can unlock it for me. Rip off merchants!! I cant get good coverage for 3 at my house so whats the point?

Just have a look and see if Meteor sell the Tocco themselves, if they do it'll definitely work with the network if it's unlocked.

Legally if you own the phone for over the year the network operator is required to unlock the phone for you and it's free. If you want it done sooner then just pop into any of those back street places and they'll do the job for a tenner.

Good thinking batman. Just checked and metero have the Tocco so should be ok. Will call into Clogher Market on the way to Longford tomorrow, there is a man there who has unlocked a phone for me before so hopefully can get it sorted.

Have decided against unblocking it and have given it to my sister to take to Scotland. She can buy a UK 3 sim card and at least she has a decent phone for college.
