£20,000 stolen from soccer officials in Co Antrim

12:31 Thursday February 5th 2004

Police in the North are investigating the theft of £20,000 from three soccer officials in Co Antrim last night. The three men were robbed while transferring the money to the boot of a car outside the Oval in Belfast. Their thieves, who were armed with a hammer and a gun, approached in a car and threatened the three officials before stealing the cash, which was the takings from Linfield's game against Glentoran. One of the officials said he feared for his life when a gun was pointed at him during the robbery.

eL clubs don't make next to near 20,000 sterling for games. They don't make near 20,000 euro for most games.

Yeah didn't think it was bad considering it is one of the Norths (many) mickey mouse competitions....

Of course they could just be saying £20,000 so that the insurance will pay out....

True but seeing as A face thought it was low, they're hardly likely to undercut the figure to get lower insurance pay out...
