Looking at Shamrock Rovers to get a result down in Cork. 2/1 being offered by VC so far, and I'd expect the other bookies to be similar. Dem be good odds.

Cork will either want to put on a show for their suffering fans and come out all guns blazing, or else the players will have their minds on their upcoming UK trials.

Either way, I think the Shams could nick a win here.

Dundalk v Bray would be the 'obvious' home win, but I probably won't go near this one.

2/1 on Rovers would be a great price alright.

Pats at home to Bohs would be tempting also. Bohs haven't exactly been flying lately, Pats will surely have lots of confidence after their European results. Pats currently 14/5 with PP, 3/1 with VC. Might have a small stake on that.

Sorry didn't see this for some reason. Strange VC went 2/1 then pushed out a tad to 11/5..

Cork v Rovers

Rovers in great form, Cork in disarray, think this one explains itself.

Backing Rovers @ 2/1 - PP - 4 pts.

Pats v Bohs

Bohs are stuttering slightly lately, late equaliser against Drogs, late equaliser against 10 man Sligo, only beat Cork by 1 goal. Pats should have lots of confidence after last weeks European antics. Pats also won this fixture earlier in the season, so they know how to beat Bohs.

Backing Pats @ 16/5 - Laddies - 1 pt.

Am on Rovers but would be very doubtful about Pats beating Bohs. Pats have been pish in the league and I don't think they can match Bohs.

Posted this in the other thread for some reason:

RR has basically said all that needs to be said on this. The gut says Shamrock Rovers will win this one, and that's what I'm going with.

Backing Shamrock Rovers @ 3.2 (Betfair) - 2 pts.

Oh well. Odds were good but it was far from a certainty. Only 2 pts lost so it's no big deal.

Yesterday morning the lay price went right into 2.82 for Rovers but just before kick off the hoops could have been backed @ 3.25.

Probably due to the fact that Joe Gamble was in the team for Cork.

I was looking to back the draw in the match and was half tempted by the 0-0 at about 15/2. Ended up backing Cork Draw no Bet. Ah well had a few winners in the other games so can't complain.

Interesting that none of the home teams scored last night!

118 games played; 47 home wins, 26 draws, 45 losses. Interesting stats but I definitely wouldn't fully agree with what you've said.:)

Certainly not as much as in other leagues. AFAIK in England the stats are 46% home wins, so far this season here it's below 40. My information is a few years old, though.
