either a 5 man defense or midfield. i dont believe we can afford to play same formation again.

and what about Saturday?

I'd expect the same Saturday

I'd like to see:

Marshall-Morrison-O'Grady/Ryan-Doyle

I think Marshall deserves a start and I can see Morrison adding a bit of life to the centre, hes made a vast improvment in recent weeks from what i've seen so far for the second half of the season and it may benefit Marshall working with Boco supplying him from right back.

Yeah lets put morrisson into an area where teams are running through us because nobody is putting a tackle in,that should solve the problem!!

but what good is putting morrison in he centre when he like the rest wont tackle. its someone to put a tackle in we need, i think your right he would be good in the centre cos he can pass, dribble and will get forward but we need a defensive midfielder beside him which we dont have, maybe connor will step up to the plate cos outta ryan mcgrath and himself he is rhe best option

I'd play a 3 man centre midfield, with danny v sitting infront of the back four. It might give us a bit of protection.

sligo 23 your right its what we need. need peers back really as well. camano looked shaky other nite but he looked too eager to me like he was tryin too hard if ya get me. hopefully he will settle. brush needs a good game as of late he has been suspect especially with crosses. still rate him a good keeper tho

I think people are being a bit too harsh on Camano, I tought in the 1st half he was getting in some great tackles. ANother option would be to have Ventre sitting in front of the back 4 and Morrison just sitting behind the 2 strikers to provide them with the kind of through balls and high balls forward, they seem frustrated by the lack of creativity in the centre and Morrison seems like the man that will liven up the attacks going down the middle for us.

Maybe like a 4-1-2-1-2

from the defensive midfield to the strikers

------------*Ventre--------------
Marshall------------------Doyle
------------Morrison------------
-----Cretaro---Blinkhorn-------

Now IMO that looks great on paper and would be worth trying for Saturday

* Ventre gives the back 4 protection as someone else stated and might be a better option than O' Grady.

I wish I was a Munster fan

That position is already filled in the Showgrounds. ;)

i think ventre will be used as a defensive midfielder with ogrady on sat night. at least he will put in a tackle.its all about having the right attitude now and not letting our heads drop even if we go a goal down. hopefully the team will give us a good performace and get through. the club as a whole badly needs it at this stage

Derry are 10/11 with Hills for tomorrow night, anybody think this is buying money?

I knew someone would say that:D:D

so we won't be conceding 4 goals that's for sure. Tbh I will be disappointed with anything less than a win, as we are at home to a side with only one point form their last 5 games, but for some reason I can see it ending in a draw.

Are you sure?:D

""""""""We can do it, we have the players, we have the management team, we have a wonderful playing surface and we have a supporters base that’s well capable of giving our team the support they rightly deserve."""""""

Well, we certainly have the blinkers on, anyway:p

Change Raf to left mid and Marshall to right mid, Dean is a right midfielder anyways and when he came on for Eoin Doyle against Dundalk he wasn't as good as he has been every other game. I'd still have Morrison in there somewhere with his work rate of late, maybe take out Ryan, if we want a bit of protection for the defence we dont want someone in there that won't tackle.

For what its worth, not much probably but we live in hope!!

Kendrick/Ryan - kendrick for pace and attack or if we want to close the shop ryan for pure defence

Marshal/Doyle - Doyle for pace and attack or marshall for workrate

Ryan for pure defence?
Are you for real?
I havent seen him make a tackle all season.

Redobit, it is not possible to be a supporter of Sligo Rovers and be a pessimist. However, many, many years of trudging to the Showgies induces a state of pragmatism. Don't confuse the two conditions.

Will I be surprised if we beat Derry 3 - 0 on Saturday night?. Not in the slightest. It is often better to travel in hope than to arrive.

When he was playing well at full back last season no one was complaining?

Kendrick has natural attacking tendencies but seems to get caught out of position sometimes and we need defenders in the defence!!!

Ryan cannot defend in midfield this season so id hazard a guess he wont be defending in defence this season either.

I think moving ventre to midfield just makes our central defence look too weak. Camano is a liability if we are to judge him on tuesdays game. Unfortunately we just dont have the players down the middle to compete. Our opportunity was to do something about it in the transfer window but thats gone now. For the league a 5 man defense maybe the only way to go to ensure we pick up some points.

Camano played well v Bohs (although he did get sent off) but too early to judge. We have no choice really so he'll most likely get a run of games.
