With all the specialized training, treatments, diets, round the clock analysis of individual requirements etc, how is this still happening after what has happened to Marc Vivien Foe, Antonio Puerta and Phil O'Donnell in recent years. Not to mention Cormac McAnallen who was just an amateur athelete compared to these other guys but was still only 24.
I mean, it happens to 10 year old kids as well but what are the club doctors and physios doing when there is something that should be looked for and detected?
I'm sure someone with knowledge in this this field will come on and tell us that you can't detect it and such but it's happening far too often for nothing to be done.

There was a documentary on TG4 before which investigated these knid of things in Danish football. It was made around 2004/05 and had a bit on Miklos Feher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miklos_Feher).

The conclusion seemed to be that some (can't remember if it was all) of the players had been injured prior to their death and they had been taking some medicines. This was the only common factor in some of the deaths.

Wikipedia has a whole list of footballers who died while playing or training, not all of them are myocardial infarctions. There were others who died similarly while not playing like David Di Tommaso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Di_Tommaso).

Hearing of this sort of death makes me feel sick and numb. I'd a best mate (Cousin actually) pass away form the same thing nearly 5 years ago now and it still baffels me.
