Another home defeat but at least a better performance than against Kildare. First half ended scoreless with Monaghan having one good chance when a freekick landed at a forward's feet inside the box but he blasted over the bar while Wexford had two chances, first, when Breener couldn't steer a header to him inside the post and second when Richie beat two defenders but then blasted at the keeper when he could have picked his spot. Other positive for the Youths was that there was a clear effort at trying to retain possession which we have been very poor at in recent matches.

Second half was fairly quiet until Breener got caught the wrong side of Karl Bermingham who volleyed past Packie in goal. Monaghan then had a further good spell after which Wexford had about five corners in a row with Gareth and Tiernan going close. Second goal from Bermingham then killed the match when, close to full-time, he slotted one home through Packie's legs when found by a Monaghan pass.

Like the Kildare match, the away side had about six yellow cards with Wexford having none. More desire or more ruthless? Think we are missing too many players at the moment with Peter White, JFOC, etc, missing and we look as if we could do with the fortnight break until our next match against Mervue. Gary Sheahan again worked hard on the right hand side of midfield/attack for Wexford while Conor Sinnott impressed in midfield.

Couldn't make it to Wexford tonight. Glad I didn't now. I heard Sinnott had a good game but it looks like Doyle and Sheahan aren't gelling at all. Mick's decision to prioritise the under 18's at the expense of the senior squad seems to be working against us as well.
If we could just start winning home games we could be in with a shout of promotion next year.

Heard JFOC has left has been seen for a few weeks and is back playing GAA Peter White is on hols and will hopefully be back soon. Paul Murphy is looking very good in training and will hopefully be back soon. Danny Furlong is not back into full training yet. Locky is gone due to study commitments
Gary and Gavin are two similar or players IMO both like to drop off and get the ball we need an out and out goal scorer someone like Paul Murphy or Danny Furlong. Conor was ok last night but some passes where terrible and bad decision making with some of the passes a midfield of Conor Pasty and Shane does not work we lack width on one wing depending on who else starts. Old fashioned 4-4-2 and look much more dangerous.
Did have some good chances near the end but did not create enough chances through out the game

Just got to see your programme from our game on Friday, very nice. The cover is very like ours for this year.
Was chuffed with Brian de Salvo's piece too and of course the 0-2 win!
