Do not, under any circumstances use Euroteam to get tickets.

For basle last year , they took my money and left us outside the stadium without tickets .

they lead us to believe that they had them for us right up to kickoff and never turned up leaving 100 fans outside the stadium with not even a good bar to see the game

Hi Guys

I saw a lot of news, but I will write what I know... The Irish Guys are staying in the Latin quarter in Paris. Is that the same quarter like "Bastille"? That`s east-side... Please write the names and when possible the internet adresse of the hotels who you`re staying... During the day the Irish Fans will be at Mc Brides Pub and Oscar Wildes Pub, right? In this massive big thread are yo many informations, it isn`t easy to find the informations I need.

While you will get help you will also get plenty of abuse....it's just our way you understand.

For your hotel just do a google search for latin quarter paris and you'll fund something. As for where will the fans be, judging by the estimates of how many Irish fans are going over you won't be able to miss us.

Am staying in a mate's place up around Montmatre myself and there's some decent little bars around that area plus it's nicely located for getting to the the ground.

One of the best bars I know up round there is kind of at the foot of the hill for Montmatre near the Anvers metro stop, called Le Progres. Cheapest beer in the area and great for sitting outside on the street. There's loads of very late bars along the street from Anvers back towards Clichy (some a lot more seedy than others). Edward & Sons is another bar along there which will probably be busy enough for that weekend.

anyone heard any news on when the french fa are putting their tickets on sale?

Jon'o
04/08/2004, 9:20 AM
Tried signing up to their website, but next to useless?Bet their tickets go on sale, when we're in Switzerland........

dont go jinxing things now.... that would be bloody typical though

odd how the french fa are leaving it so late tickets for their other games are on sale

gspain

Don't forget we can pop over the border to France to buy tickets when in Basel - that is if they are only sold to French residents.

gspain
04/08/2004, 2:46 PM
Will they be on sale.....where?Think a low-profile approach would have to be called for........

No details yet but they are normally on sale over the counter.

We should know by then if the credit card sales will post to Ireland - if not just pop into Mulhouse and buy them - no need to even go incognito I imagine.

See earlier threads re attendances at St. Denis - game will probably sellout but only after a public sale which will take a while. - other option for south UK based posters is to pop over to Calais for a few hours on a cheapo deal, stock up on booze and buy some tickets.

Jon'o
04/08/2004, 6:22 PM
booze cruse.... good idea that man :) however it would be typical for them to be on same while the swiss game is going on.

with the bookings through the fai closing on the 30th july you would have thought that they would have said how many tickets they have ... just so you have a rough idea if you have a shot at getting a ticket.

The FAI are currently counting their applications for French tickets and are going to request extra tickets from the FFF, based on the no. of applications they recieve. Applicants will not know if applications are successful until at least 15th September. Ticket office told me this. 8000 tickets gauranteed though.

Any chance of you sharing your pub list with us?! We're staying near Grands Boulevards, which is also near Montmartre\Opera. It's district number 9. Any Irish pubs around there?

just been on to the FAI, the total number of applications received for the French game was 23,000 tickets and we have been allocated 8,000. They are trying to get a larger number of tickets allocated for that game. I just hope i can get a couple of tickets

First post 'cos I just found this site :)

Just to let you all know that there has been no date announced by the FFF as to when the tickets are going on sale but normally it's 6 weeks before the game which would mean next weekend.

I'm a member of FFF and get e-mails weekly from fnac.fr (where I buy my tickets) so I'll post here as soon as I hear anything.

Also I know that this is my first post and you don't know me from Adam, but if anyone wanted to use my address here in Paris to receive tickets they could have them sent to me and I'd meet up with them on the big day.
Though if you buy them via www.fnac.fr, you can just choose to pick them up at the shop (5 in Paris) with your reservation number that they send to you via email.

Pubs are everywhere but Irish pubs are the most expensive with pints from 5 to 7euro on a Sat evening.

Here's a map (http://www.funkymaps.com/pub/left.jpg) of the major bars on the left-bank (south of the river).

AFAIK, there aren't a whole lot of bars that stay open late on weekends. Most bars shut at 2am but you'll find the old one that stays open until 5am (Mcbrides/Corcorans/O'Sullivans).

Happy Hours are normally from 7 'til 9 or thereabouts, but they don't work on weekends.

Here (http://www.funkymaps.com/rubriques/bestbars.htm) is the link to the other maps of PAris for those on the right bank and up by Pigalle.

And here (http://www.parispubs.com/) is a list of pubs/bars in the city which I worked on but it hasn't been updated in about 12 months. I was hoping to get something ready for the match but it's kinda too late now.

Either way, with the public transport so good and pretty cheap you can go anywhere no matter where your hotel is :)

Ok , folks , last year I was one of those who did not receive tickets for the Swiss game from Euroteam, but I had other tickets anyway through Ticketcorner so i got in.

This year the french game looks like there is going to be overwhelming demand.

i have bought tickets through these guys (below) and they have guaranteed me that they will have them for me . fair enough price too....70 Euro for cat1 ticket.

They even said they might be able to get me into the Irish end.

Anyway here is the link.

I am not an agent for these guys so don't blame me if you are not successful or lose cash with them

Very interesting - this does not appear to be a tout site - Euroteam were touts who sell tickets for events at a high price and then try and buy them for less and if they can't just tell the punters to FO.

However strange that fnac and the French Football Federation have not started selling our game yet. These are the normal sources for french home tickets.

Still no harm in booking.

Delivery to Ireland is €16.50 btw which is a bit steep but I doubt if anyone will complain.

No harm in booking this as I'm sure there will be plenty of takers if you're stuck with extras.

I just booked 5 tickets myself at €60 each which appear to be the second most expensive seats so hopefully we will have a decent view of the game. They don't appear to be a tout so here's hoping.

eirebhoy
23/08/2004, 1:31 PM
Maybe if so many Irish people booked from that site within a certain time you'd get seats in or around the same area. A bunch of Irish together can only be a good thing and boost the atmosphere. :)

Barna Bee
23/08/2004, 1:43 PM
1) the prices are fair
2) they have promised the tickets and give you a way of tracking your tickets and shipment
3) having spoken to them they seem honest and their terms and conditions are the same for any concert etc...standard but fair.
4)I was on the site last week and booked my tickets when there was availability, then the option disappeared from the site so I called them to find out what was wrong, he said they had no more of an allocation for the game but did say they were getting a further allocation today , and true to his word this has appeared on their website. Since this morning this allocation has been dwindling since as now their seems to be less available in the diferent categories.

This would suggest that they are not a tout , they have been allotted a certain number of tickets from FFR to sell and when these run out the option to book them will disappear.

Those who were caught out by Euroteam last year will have noticed that Euroteam accepted the option to buy ticktets fom their site right up to the day of the game.....pure chancers. they subsequently did not deliver.

As I said best of luck , but don't blame me if it goes t1ts up.

Gents, below is a message I got from Mosaic today.

Just to let you know I am a normal punter just looking for tickets who offered my services of posting their links on a few Irish soccer boards. They thought i was some kind of marketing company or something.

Either way they appear to still have a few tickets available for cat 4 on their site.

Just bagged a couple of tickets from the Mosaic site. Euro 30 each and 13.50 delivery charge to Sussex.

Interestingly the confirmation e-mail states.......
Your credit card payment has been accepted and your order is being processed. Your account will only be debited once your tickets are effectively purchased (within a four-day maximum lap). Mosaico World will send you an e-mail to confirm the booking of your tickets and the sending of your Event Pass.

This suggests to me Mosaic haven't actually got the tickets themselves yet and need to source them before debiting me.

Normally if the FFF aren't selling the tickets on their site then not one else has them to sell, even if they are sure to have them to sell.

gspain
24/08/2004, 7:52 AM
If you read the french site tickets are sold through a number of outlets including the Virgin megastore, FNAC etc - both online and through stores.

It is how the French sell their tickets as they normally don't have huge demand - eg we could sell the game in Lansdowne 20-30 times over - they would struggle to sell out St. Denis without visiting fans.

This site appears to be legit and I would have no worries re pruchasing from them - you are fully covered if you pay by credit card anyway and don't get your tickets. I suspect they already have an allocation of tickets from the French Federation and just jumped the gun and put them on sale. The French are obviously trying to sell more Israel tickets first.

I think the french are going to get quite a shock when they see how fast their tickets are selling and to where. Even if they subsequently restrict tickets to French residents it won't be a problem.

Hopefully tickets will be on sale by the time we play the Swiss so fans can pop into Mulhouse and buy them over the counter.

where to buy France v Israel tickets (assume ours will be the same)

Dans le réseau Ticketnet (Auchan, E-Leclerc, Galeries Lafayette, Virgin).

Dans le réseau France-Billet (Fnac, Carrefour, Printemps, Géant ).

Dans le réseau PSG Billetterie.

I just mailed Mosaico World, and asked them if they could put my four tickets with three tickets (category 4) from a friend of mine .. and they said it would be no problem at all.

Perhaps, we could organise to group more of the tickets together , so that we have a mini-Irish section(s) ... "Ni neart go chuir le cheile", and all that

I've had a look on the mosaico site and can't see the Ireland game. Is there anywhere in particular I need to look ?

There's at least 4 of us heading out, and they do discounts for groups of 10 or more, so would be happy to hook-up with a few others to get them cheaper and split the delivery charge.

and scroll down through , you should come across the Irish game about 4 options down
