whats the story with Gary Murphy?
have ye resigned him ?
we could do worse than sign him on loan,a classy midfielder, ive always had huge regard for him.

loan is the best you'd get i think, it would suit us too as he needs first team football.

put it this way, if he rates him he will try to sign him, young talent is always a welcome at any club. he is rated by our club, he needs to build up the upper body, very light, he shoul deat pies with digger, any sign of a pre season "friendly" with yee

I heard last week that Paddy was going to Sligo on loan...Think that was inevitable that he wasn't going to be part of Matthews' plans this season...

Thats alright, as he doesn't rate Athlone as a club - hence he joined us when the option of the home town club was there.... And it wasn't entirely down to first division football that he wouldn't join you...

irrespective of what he or you think about Athlone Town, my opinion of him as a player remains the same, ive seen him play since his schoolboy days and he has no more improvement in him.He had a decent season at under 21 with UCD and thats it.
As for his attitude,..............
In contrast,Gary Murphy and Sean Prunty, both who played schoolboy football with my club, are both improving and have a tremendous attitude.
If Gary or Sean had played schoolboy football in longford and then signed for athlone would ye still have the same unswerving opinion?

Paddy Mull has a great big head on him... When a player questions the support of League of Ireland soccer it's time he was out on his ear... I want him out of our club.... a waste of space.

:D What's said supporting him when he's being attacked by Athlone, and whats said on the terraces are two different things, however now Xlex has lowered the tone sufficiently.... I don't really rate him either - and repeat my call for Murph to be given more of a chance instead....

Fair enough, I still think a season with us on loan in division one would really bring Gary on.

Different Murphy I'm talking about - Adrian. Having said that, if niether of them going to feature next season (we can have our own debate about whether they should!), then I agree that a loan spell would be the best option rather than them stagnate and fall out.

Would be nice if we had Man United/ Royal Antwerp style relationship going with Athlone.... :p

right don't mention prunty, he ain't going anywhere, it would be good if we could use our poor friends in sligo, scumlone and the like to bring on our younger players
