Can have no complaints with the result tonight. Match was played in a chronic gale and Wexford, playing with the wind, created only one chance before half-time when Gavin got through for a one-on-one with the keeper who got down well. Kildare also had one good chance before half-time but Anto Russell took it off the line. Nil-nil at half-time and match was quite even.

Kildare had the wind in the second half and got their first when a Wexford clearance fell straight to Philly Hughes who tucked it away nicely. Kildare then got two more within about five minutes by getting two shots on target with the wind, neither of which Pa Doyle will be happy with. For the first, his mistimed clearance fell to a Kildare player who shot from thirty yards with Pa scrambling back. The second shot was also from about the same distance when a Kildare player wasn't closed down and Pa got caught slightly off his line. Muzzi Mullen came on midway through the second-half and had a free header which he put over the bar. Otherwise, we didn't really look like scoring on the night.

What happened in the 2nd? I didnt venture out, did an airport run at 2:30 this morning, was knackered this evening and am working a long w/e so couldnt face the weather tonight.
3 nil though, at home, to Kildare!

Kildare were unrecognisable from the match in Station Road and also looked like they wanted it more as reflected in the seven (approx.) yellow cards which Kildare got from a fussy referee compared to Wexford's one. One Kildare player who impressed was Trevor Bowers who looked very handy on the left wing and got either the second or third Kildare goal. We look as if we need more options up front when the Gavin-Gary combo isn't working as it didn't tonight.

We have no options up front, will Murph & Furlong ever be fit?

I see your 2nd half reference now, thanks for the report, what was the team? Must have been a disappointing game for the few sorry sould that turned up.

Team was Pa, Anto, Rossi, Breener, Gareth, Shane Sinnott (went off early), Patsy, Conor, Shane Dempsey, Gavin and Gary. Subs were Richie, Muzzi and Warren. I think Mick gave up after the second goal as he stayed sitting in the players' dugout from then on.

Furlong's been ruled out by a specialist in Dublin for the season. Was chatting to him recently, he definitely wants to play for the Youths again, and looking forward to it! Haven't a clue what the story with Murph is, didn't ask.

We've been getting good results for the past few weeks now and nobody seems to be noticing which is good for us. Of the team that played in Station Road only one of them was out last night and we have also never lost in Ferrycarrig as far as I know. Although our back four might have been a little dodgy as we had a left wing/striker at left back and a centre mid at centre back until he got injured and then we had a right back at centre back and a center mid at right back (if ye got that?) so maybe you are right that ye don't have much up front. Bowers did play exceptional last night and it is great to see him doing so well, Philly Hughes lob was something else though, to get it right on a windy night like that.

depressing really only mervue and kildare have scored less goals than us, joint 5th best defence though.
our home results are disappointing really, makes you wonder why we do so much better away from ferrycarrig.

It's the same story for us in our last two home league games we've got all 6 points scored 7 goals and only conceded 1, but in he last two home games we've got 1 point, didn't scored and conceded 2 goals

I've been noticing allright, a lot of games recently you've lost by the odd goal, late goals etc, big improvement from earlier this season but to be fair youse couldnt get much worse. Still couldnt see youse beating us in this fixture.

Thinking back on the squad we had I don't know if we'd even win a game in the A championship, although I was the same, ye've been doing very well this season and I would have been very happy with a point
