UCD AFC U20 8(6):0(0) Athlone Town U20

Scorers: Gavin Falconer (2), Graham Rusk (2), Keith Ward (2), Brian Connaughton and O.G.

Team: Cian Byrne, Mitch Kelly, David O'Connor (Jamie Carr HT), Mick Leahy, Andy Boyle, Garvin Broughall, Stephen Doyle, Brian Connaughton, Gavin Falconer, Keith Ward (Conor Melvin HT), Graham Rusk (Barry Grehan 55').

Comprehensive win for College as they put three wins out of three in the league this year. Graham Rusk and Keith Ward were cruelly denied hat-tricks by being substituted.
Still great win, move on to the next match.

If this match takes place in Belfield than it's likely to take place in front of the Sports Centre, 200 metres from the Clonskeagh entrance.

Falconer's a Waterford lad, isn't he?
Supposed to be very handy, and plainly he is! :D

Cian Byrne has left the club apparently. Retired. Was on the bench last night, but that's it.

Beat Pat's 5-1 at the weekend. Looks like we're going to stroll our group. Bray are second with three points dropped and two goals conceded - both to us (I think)

ye must have some team!?
Our first team this year is essentially our A team last year. We live or die on our youth set-up.

So good that Kildare were too scared to play us at the weekend. 3-0 walkover win.

Playing Rovers tomorrow.

A fair few of the players are first-teamers. It helps having a young first team when you're playing in an under-20 league!

Beat St Pat's 2-1 apparently to end the group stage on a 100% winning record.

Quarters must be coming up soon.

I'd say so. The rugby team are away this weekend, so there's no reason for it not to be.

We beat Limerick on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Sean Houston and, I think, Gavin Falconer scored. We won the shoot out 7-6 after 8 penalties each.

Ouchie. Closer than I think we expected. Still, onwards to the semis - away to Bray or Wexford.

Bray beat Wexford 3-1 AET. Don't know when the semi is, but Bray will be focussing on the relegation play-off more than this one, which will help us hopefully.

can't make the game tonight, gutted! :(

For anyone that does manage to make it, any chance of posting up a brief summary of the game?

After all, it will hopefully be another night to celebrate with a bit of silverware!

There'll be video highlights available in the next week or so, I hope. Can't make the game myself either - though I'll be along before and after - but there'll be something up on the website too if I get info.

Amazing turnaround in the second half, the difference in our attitude and confidence after half time was immediately evident. Once we got the first goal, I thought we were favourites to win.
