I will be in Ireland August 14 - 20 and it seems as though the league cup match vs Derry City will be my only opportunity to catch a football game at the Showgrounds. How would I go about getting 3 tickets and is there a will-call type setup like here in the USA where we can show ID at the ground and collect our tickets the day of the match? Are we safe to just wait to buy the tickets once we get there or should we purchase in advance?

Thanks,
Chris

Should be safe enough to buy on the gate on day of match.Just get to ground early if you want to get a seat in the stand!

more than likely it will be an all ticket match as a big crowd is expected

If its going to be an all ticket affair,Im afraid it will just for the sake of it. There will be a big crowd but definitly not a packed house.

Oh! its nice for sligoman to aree with me for once

There's no way it will sell out. Show up on the night and you won't get turned away!

The Semi-Final with Derry a few years ago wasnt a sell out either, but for a Cup game against Derry, expect possibly our biggest crowd of the season.

Whatever about getting tickets, when is it on? I assume (MISTAKE?) the Saturday as we aren't on da telly Friday. Can't seem to see fixtures on the website since it has come back. Sunday afternoon games with Derry were always popular..will be ****ed off if thats the case.

We will have played Derry home on Wed too, so saturday hopefully.

Wanted to follow up and say thank you for your help on this. We had no problems just showing up at the gate. I showed up a bit early just to check to see if tickets were available and instead got to see a brief bit of the team's practice. Was a great match and my father and brother who don't watch soccer enjoyed it. The match was the best experience while in Sligo Town for the three of us, by far. Thanks.
