Ports turn down Arkins request
Portadown manager Ronnie McFaul has moved to quell speculation that the club’s star striker Vinny Arkins will be quitting Shamrock Park to return to the eircom League before the start of the new season.
Dubliner Arkins, formerly of Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers, has spent several years outside the domestic league.
He enjoyed a successful spell in Scotland, where he turned out for Dundee United and St Johnstone, before returning to these shores to join Irish League side Portadown seven years ago.
