Struggling badly now. We were miserable on our first trip to Tallaght at the start of the season, and if we're honest things haven't improved since.
I'm hoping we can scrape a draw. A lot depends on keeping Twigg quiet. He only needs a sniff and he'll score. We're so shaky at the bag it's hard to see us doing it.
Looking forward to seeing the new lads and hopefully they can shake us up a bit.
It's soul destroying how we've collapsed compared to them this year.

I'm usually optimistic, but i can't see us even scoring up there. Shams 2-0 Rovers

2 or 3-nil to them, I'm afraid.

At least 3-0. I assume Ventre suspended for this one.

This has 3-0 written all over it unless we can bring in some decent midfielders who are interested and will actually supply strikers with chances.

i presume ventre is out and i have being told that feeney is injured.

Whats the deal with tickets for this one, are they selling away tickets at the Showgrounds?

I would guess it's pay at gate. There wont be a quarter as many Rovers (Sligo) fans lookin' to go to this one as there was in March.

Temporary seating was installed at the venue to increase capacity from a usual 3,500 to 10,200.

we will struggle but lets try to be positive. on sunday anyone that was in albania must admit they were wrecked and the team done the same travelling as us plus played a game. we need steel added to the team but we have not got it. i think cook has to improve his tactics(i hate being critical of him but) we play the same way every game. we cant score from corners or free kicks so we need to try something new. all our play is out wide with strikers chasing balls. we need plan B........................

we cant score from corners or free kicks

This is probably the most frustrating thing tbh. Ok, I can see why we are struggling defensively in comparison to last season. Now that I think about it, we really took last season's defense for granted. Coleman-Peers-Almeida-Butler. I wouldn't swap that for any other defense in the league. Against cork our defensive unit simply wasn't up to scratch, we just didn't have good enough players. But, surely to God we could learn how to take a bloody corner/free kick. It's bordering on ridiculous at this stage. Do they even practise them in training:confused:

Hard to be too optimistic about this one at the moment, hopefully we can come away with a score draw because I can't see Twigg not scoring for Shams against us. Anything out of this game would be a decent result because it's a real dogfight at the bottom. Pity they switched it to Friday, was planning to go otherwise.

Can see us being up for this one after the thumping in the showgrounds earlier in the season so reckon we will get a draw.

Anyone know what the story is with tickets , is it safe to assume the novelty has worn off and its cash at the gate ?

Lots of rumours on Shams forum this game will be moved to the Showgies due to health and safety problems with the temporary seating. Hope it's not true as it's not really fair on the club to have game at such short notice with no promotion done. Shams should get a fine for this if it happens.

But surely with your fantastic super brilliant ground everything will be ok?:(

If Shamrock can't fulfill their duties, and the game is switched to The Showgrounds, then surely there must be some kind of sanctions.

This Madrid friendly is being giving higher priority than a LOI game by the look of it, there should be some sort of punishment.

We can fulfil our duties, it's outsiders who want it switched. We're not happy about it either.

Another result of the 10-team league madness. Cram all the games in in the shortest possible time, then change them at will.

This is showing an unbelievable disregard for LoI fans. What about those who were organising a bus or had arranged for a couple of hours off to travel up on Friday? I suppose these people, your dedicated supporters, don't matter anymore. If they ever did.
I agree, Shams should be sanctioned for this. It's their ground as they love to tell us. If they can't have their sh1t together then they should be punished. Real Madrid game or no Real Madrid game.
This will clash with the GAA in Kerry now as well. Nice one guys.

Is the Gah match not on TV at 5pm?? Get to the Cat & Cage for 5pm, watch the GAA on the telly and then make your way down to Tolka Park to watch the real pride of the county!! ;)

Nothing to do with us. SDCC shut the ground, the FAI rearranged the game, yous have a game to watch in Dublin this weekend.

We're the ones screwed again.

Whats the story with this , if we all fitted in one stand for the first game why is installing temporary seating at the other end of the ground affecting the match.

So it's the ten team league that made you play 3 friendlies in atallaght this month?

Agreed!!...except with the Gaa comment..couldnt care less about the turfball..Have had to switch getting Saturday off to getting Friday off and now back to getting saturday off again!!..plus have to haed into town now instead of just heading down the M50...obviously understand the financial worth of the Madrid game and it is good for the profile of the league in some respects but it should'nt affect us proper fans like it has done.

Sorry but it has everything to do with Shamrock Rovers FC. Ye wanted the friendly (for obvious reasons). Ye wanted it played at Tallaght ( again for obvious reasons ) and now ye can't hold a league game on the night it was supposed to be held...
It makes a mockery of the whole thing. Think about it. What if every team organised friendlies in this manner and then couldn't host their league games when they were supposed to be held?
An announcement from the FAI the day before is the most infuriating part though...
But that's not your fault ;)

It shouldn't do anything to the league programme. I'd be exceptionally surprised if there was any sufficient grounds that the game on Friday could not be held but the game last week and Monday can be.

Other than the SDCC having a hissy fit.

Those of us with a memory will remember when league games were postponed altogether due to clubs holding glamour friendlies. The game is going ahead this weekend, on a night which will allow more of yiz to attend the game.

If there was another stadium capable of hosting Real Madrid at the moment, it would have been chosen. As it is, Tallaght is the only vaguely suitable venue, and only we play in Tallaght.

2 years ago, we had a trip to Sligo which was changed at the last minute to facilitate tv, ruining many fans travel plans. That wasn't your fault, and this isn't ours.

End of the day, it's down to the FAI and their poor handling of the league. They should have seen this coming as soon as the Madrid friendly was organised, they were told on the 9th that the SDCC wanted to close Tallaght. WHY did they wait till the 16th to announce it!?

Cost one Supporters' club hundereds of euro for a non-refundable deposit already paid before the announcement.

You lads had two weeks notice for that and not less than 36 hours before the game which is a total joke you have to admit.

The deposit had to be paid long before two weeks, so it was a lost cause whether it was two days or weeks or two months notice.

its some joke that a loi game be changed at such short notice. whatever about about changing the venue but the day too is just typical of fai. People have arranged time off work friday to leave in time for game. At the very least the loi fan deserves a bit more notice. is it any wonder the gates are as small as they are
