pauls were winning 5-2 with about 10 or 15 minutes left, pauls player took a shot the keeper saved it and fell back against the goals and they came down, only heard this about 12 o clock today from their manager

according to limerick league website result 5-2 to pauls and the league table showing they got the 3 points .. could be another case of appeals to league by other teams if pauls go on and win league or get promoted

If the result stands, I think that is a terrible decision by the league. The match was abandoned so the points can't be given to pauls in my opinion.

ldmc ruled on it all ready and awarded st pauls the points as there was less than ten mins to play with st pauls winning the match any objections against will be ruled out of order no point in any one objecting
against this as the 2/3 rule ldmc has in place will cover this match

very suprised ldmc ruled so quick ... alot can happen in 10-15 mins in a game also ballylanders could argue case of goalkeeper injured when goalpost fell onto him .. or other teams now refuse to play if goalposts unsafe .. can always appeal to munster ..

Terrible rule I think. As Old Git said, a lot can happen in 10-15 minutes. Very unlikely Ballylanders would have come back to get a draw but there was always a chance. Stranger things have happened in football. If they were a proper set of goalposts they shouldn't fall no matter who falls into them. This is the home teams responsibility so they are to blame for not having proper goalposts.

Those goalposts were past fit by LDMC and refs. From what I was told by Ballylanders capt the goalkeeper was actually there manager filling in on the day. They also had no objection to Pauls getting the pts so thats that.

fair enough then .. but other teams who lose out on promotion now might think it worth while to appeal ..

Not one for blaming the ref but he was ridiculous, 3 out of the 5 goals were down to bad decisions. Wasnt just his fault tho, we weren't good enough n only got started wen we were 5-1 down!! Looking forward to the Shannon derby next year, COME ON THE HIBS....
