Think he means if somebody has been dead a while and you only just found out.

People You Thought Were Dead would probably be a better thread. Keith Waterhouse, JD Salinger and Walter Cronkite are the ones that surprised me.

That's what I meant! Just talking randomly in the office about dodgy Europop hits, and someone said Scatman John died in 1999. That one escaped me...

The bloke from Vet Safari died in October last year, fell out of his chopper while trying to dart a buffalo apprently. I only discovered it recently.

Richard Burns the rally driver. Only read yesterday that he's been dead for nearly four years.

Jesus. I mean you'd think they'd have said? I even thought the passion of the Christ was Sci-Fi.

I have an entry for a close relation to this thread, someone I'd assumed was long dead but actually just recently died: Patrick O'Brien. When I read his first book, it felt so authentically like a period novel that I assumed his bones were dust. It turns out that he only died in 2000.

I had been telling my mate Sarah about this thread yesterday and a few hours later we were in the pub and something came up about celebs dying and she said something about Bob Monkhouse and I realised I had someone to post on this thread coz I hadnt a clue he had died!
