Apparently Mungret have a handy side this year. Heard they signed one or two good players from St. Pats A's. Vinnie Naughton who played for Mungret A last year is with them at the moment as well. Might be ones to watch for the league if they can hang onto these players.

Mungret Regional B 0-0 Caherdavin B

Both teams tried to play a bit of football and either could have snatched a goal to win it. Was a good run around for both teams last night. Mungret will be a very decent side and should be there or there abouts at the top this season.

summerville rovers will have an astro available for use by end of september, it's astro grass similar to mungrets and around the same size, throw me on a pm if intersted in renting.

Lads, any news on the teams in the league this year? We've (Hyde) come down from 2A, signed 4/5 players, not sure how strong we'll be though. Is anybody stong favourites, I hear the Polish lads have a strong team but I've not seen them play.

Yeah, they both signed. Also signed a keeper,a midfielder and a new forward. They've all looked ok in pre-season. Not much of a squad though, when changes have been made in last half hour of games we've struggled. Summerville ended up hitting us for 5 and they were a few short of their best team.

Kildimo 3 - 3 Mungret Regional B

Mungret were missing a few starting players, still put in a good performance against a handy desmond league team. Pitch was in pretty poor nick and didnt allow for much ball to be played.

Ya good analysis of the game...Mungret lacked any creativity in midfield though:p Cant see them mount a challenge for the league now that they lost three of there best players...Moyross and Regional to go up!!:D

I was told the average age of the team was 19/20, im not going to say you will never win anything with kids, but you need a bit of experience to go along with those young players and i dont think regional have that this season. So i wouldnt see them walking through anyone in this league.

As for Mungret, only time will tell. I have only seen them play twice this season and they looked decent enough both times. But like i said before Moyross or the Polski's will be the favourites! if there not off eating swans that is!! :)

:) Ya players diets are imperative at this level!! The Pols would want to get there act together!:p I hear some of Regionals youngsters are training and playing matches with the A's so that standard will stand to them experience wise...Did the Mungret old age pensioners and Daddys win either pre season friendly you saw??

David Gallaher is out with injury until at least christmas, Dirmuid Barry is going to Qatar working for the year and Paul Scales (there top scorer last year) is out for a while according to team mates for the start of the season and Vinnie Naughton may go playing with the A's...he's definately good enough to be a squad player there so it may be hard to hold onto him!...I could be wrong about that though!

3a is only one division below this, not a massive difference in them. The polish team are very hit and miss. They beat us 4-0 a couple of weeks ago but we beat them today. We played some lovely football and deserved the win. I still expect them to be there or there abouts depending on how they hold their team together.

I completely agree with that to be fair, but i thought ye had finnished third from bottom in 3B last year? I was just saying if it was a similar team to the one then, its not a good result seen as the Polish are being tipped for promotion by people, but being honest I dont no your team now at all and ye could be every bit as good. Anyway if they are hit and miss like you say though, they wont be up there come May!

Ya we did finish low down in 3b but if you ask any team from that division they'll tell you we where alot better than the table showed and we where unlucky not to be in the final of our cup. We had the 3rd or 4th best defence in the league i think it was just scoring goals that killed us which at the moment we seem to have rectified. Gordon McKevitt has scored 12 goals in 6 games for us so far in pre-season.

Going on past seasons the polish crowd seem to go on a run of winning games, get absolutely stuffed in mid season and then pick up a bit again near the end. If they have their full starting team they would have the beating of alot of teams in alot of divisions, they play lovely one touch football and are full of movement. I hear though that they keep losing players or can't rely on always having them down for matches which is a pity cause they have the makings of a very good team.
