Anyone know how long you should allow to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 in Heathrow?

I know there's trains every 15 minutes that take 3 minutes to travel between one and the other, but looking at booking flights which leave just over an hour between arrival time and departure time. Never had a problem with this changeover time before, but with the different terminal, am I pushing it?

Have booked a bag into luggage, but can change that if needs be.

I know its not exactly what you asked but it takes about an hour to (mainly) walk & get trains between Terminal 1 & 3 with no baggage collection. Not sure if you can work out connection to Terminal 5 from that...but make what you will of that...

An hour seems far too tight even if you have no baggage, if you do have baggage and you are in a hurry invariably yours will be the last bag and a train will just have left when you just arrive at the platform

Presume you've seen this on heathrow's website (http://www.heathrowairport.com/portal/page/Heathrow%5EGeneral%5EAirport+information%5ETravel+ between+terminals/aedd3db5569a9110VgnVCM10000036821c0a____/448c6a4c7f1b0010VgnVCM200000357e120a____/)

I did, yeah. It's where I go the info on the trains from. Didn't see any overall info on transfers there though.

Just in case anyone else is wondering (like Rovers fan), BA gates close 45 minutes before departure, and you have to go out and re-go through all that security nonsense, so there's not enough time. You'd want to have two hours between arriving and departure I'd say.

I wouldn't book a transfer of less than 2-2.5 hours in Heathrow.
