Overnighting seems to be order of the day as far as this fixture is concerned, still if we got a bus going all the better, its no further than say Wexford and we've done that.

No harm in seeing what type of interest there is anyway. I know its Monaghan, and I know its a Thursday, and im also aware of a lot of people really pi$$ed off with Monaghan for having the game on a Thursday after us putting our home game with them on a Saturday, but sure if theres enough demand then go with it.
Wouldnt hold my breath though. ;)

Dont know the exact ins and outs of it but we didnt particularly want to drag you up on a Thursday but when we couldnt find an alternative game to play during the FAI AGM we had to change from the arranged Sunday to the Thursday.

How does it? We dont do Thursday nights. And whatever chance of getting fans from Limerick up here goes out the window pretty much with a Thursday night game.

We were never gonna replace Dundalk with our numbers regardless of what day it was on but what your gonna have on the night is a fairly pi$$ed off Limerick squad, staff and handfull of fans.

1-0 defeat.

Monaghan scored after about 10 minutes.
we had 2 real good chances after that (one a great save from a diving header)
limericks best chance was from tip off after our goal. terrific top corner shot from the half way line. also a header in the 1st half which just went wide.
limerick almost equalised in final minute too. mcgann snuffed out by.
and pints were good. again.

is our midfield selection. last night it was Hughes Roche, Tracy and Walshe.
Hughes whos a central midfielder played on the right, and in the second half at right back. Roche is an under 20 right back, played in central midfield and at center half in the second half. Tracy is a left back/left wing. Played at center mid for all last nights game. Walshe is a right wing, played most of the game on the left and for the last 20 mins in his positon of right wing when Limerick created most of their chances. on the bench was waybe colbert or best holding midfielder in the club. came on in the second half and controlled midfield. Dave ryan came on second half on the left and played well.
we lost the game with a stupid selection of players playing out of position to yet another junior team. Up there with the game against Mervue for quality.
usaul standard of officials in the first division. on this occasion the ref (rogers)would blow for a free and run to the far side of the ground (where there were no fans to shout at him for stupid decisions) on three occasions in the last ten mins, defenders facing their own goal and with the ball, trapped and gonna give away a corner or touch...pick up the ball and fall over...whistle blows, free out of course as the ref takes off in the direction of the cows.

jeez sounds dire. Team selection has been erratic at best this season, dos'nt look like he had a decent panel last night. Ah well, just happy we've a club for the rest of the season,we must lower our expections at this stage and make the most of what we got.I'm reluctant to say we'll build on this for next season!

thats a poor result given we have a decent record up there.expect a few established players to be on there way soon enough, scully has already fallen out with a couple.

Nice and dandy, we have a club and I for one am delighted we'll survive another year:rolleyes: but I for one am tired of "surviving".
We have gone backwards this season in my opinion. We really should be pushing for the playoffs and not let Wexford, Monaghan go above us in the table and be held at home home by Athlone and Monaghan and beaten away by Mervue, a team we stuffed 4-1 at Jackman.
I have great respect for Pat Scully and I do believe he'll take us forward (if he's left) but my optimism is wearing thin when all we go on about is what's happening off the park. I'm no Jack McCarthy or Pat Sullivan and I will do what I can within my means to help us out but I don't want to survive from one season to the next when all we talk about is nothing to do with the team.
It's an awful result to be beaten by Monaghan tonight if you have aspirations to be promoted.
There isn't a LOI club between Cork and Galway except us and we're struggling to hang on in there, not good enough for the Mid-west area.
Please God we'll see a day when we can have a club that the whole region can be proud of and that we can compete in the top tier of a league that's competent and profitable.
This is not a defeatist attitude but I am really weary at the situation right now, not just at at Limeick but the whole league set up.

i hope its financial or the lack of finance we have that your talking about. but the teams are well looked after and i think its next year we will be pushing for promotion. This year after the balls up of the off season, where our then manager lost or most potent striker and had not signed any players two weeks before the season...we were always gonna find this year hard.i still think theres another ten wins in this team this season.

I just heard that Tommy has retired from football,i really hope this is'nt the start of what your talkin about. We cant afford to lose senior players (we've not got that many!)
