Despite much media speculation on his future, talented winger Eric Molloy will be lining out for Athlone Town again next season. Molloy had attracted the interest of Sligo Rovers boss Don O'Riordan, after scoring a spectacular goal in the Town's 3 - 0 win over the north-westeners in Saint Mel's Park near the end of last season. However, despite this interest, the Moate man has put pen to paper on a new deal, keeping him at Saint Mel's Park for another term.

Another boost is the news that big centre back Des Hope, will also be playing his football with Athlone next season. The young Ballinasloe man had a fantastic season at the heart of the Town's defence alongside Ronan Frawley last season, improving in every game.

Left back Alan Kelly, and his Irish College team-mate Damien Rushe have also agreed new deals, as have midfielders Steven Gavin and Mick Collins.

Returning to the fold is Tom Silke, who spent a number of seasons away from home with Galway United and Longford Town. The big central defender also attracted great interest from Sligo Rovers manager Don O'Riordan, but opted to return to his hometown club, with the appointment of Callaghan, whom he worked with at Flancare Park

Sorry to see Tom go. He was very good in his first season with us. Himself and Barry were a good combination.

this brings the total to 4 the no of ex town players:

Stephen Kelly
Stephie Gavin
tom Silke
Eric Molloy

Gone to Monaghan UTD is the one and only Stewie Holt.

Who else will **** callaghan get from us i like to know?

Of course Molloy and Silke were Town players before they went to Longford, and can't see Kelly having a huge playing part next season, so in essence we have one.
