Yeah, as the Longford posters have said, we were lucky to take the three points out of Flancare on Saturday. Wexford started without Gav, Sinny and Patsy and pushed Peter White alongside Shane in the middle with JimmyK up front with GaryS. Longford's best chance came in the first half when some neat play left a Longford attacker on his own about 18 yards out but he hit it close to Packie who got down well. Only Youths chance I remember in the first half was some nice play by JimmyK which gave him some room but he couldn't get his shot on target.

Second half was more of the same with Longford doing more of the pressing especially their right back who looked very useful. Longford's other main chance was in this half when McCarthy won a header and sent it goalwards in the air but the Longford attacker on the other end of it couldn't keep it down from three yards out and flicked it over the bar instead. Not as easy as it looked though. Wexford's goal came when Anto Russell got freedom of the right wing from half-way and crossed over a low cross which GaryS tucked away neatly. Only other shot I can remember by the Youths in the second half was a volley straight from a throw-in by Paul Rossiter which he did well to keep in the stadium.:)
Best for Youths were Packie who looked great on the crosses, Breener (as usual) and GaryS who worked his socks off up front.
