Drogs have increased their ticket prices to a whopping €25 for the stand, and €20 for the terrace, according to today's irish independant.

The board have apparantly said that if the Drogs fans want to see a succesful team, then they should be willing to dig into their pockets.

It's a bit much if you ask me, especially when you consider you can see Brazil for 20 quid at landsdowne.

How many City fans would be willing to travel to Drogheda AND pay twenty snots for the privelage?

it's a horrible place as it is, paying 20 quid to stand in a dump is a bit much.

It'll discourage drogheda fans from going to the games, it'll discourage away fans to travel.... there's better ways to spend your hard earned cash IMO

Jebus, you wouldnt mind maybe if they had build a brand new stadium where you could watch a game in comfort but €20 for that peepee soaked heck hole.

Bet you we'll get them first day of the season away.

Talking to a Drogs fan here in work - he's disgusted. As far as he knows there wasn't any sort of consultation surrounding the decision and he reckons that you'll find it quickly being reversed over the next few days.

Apparently they tried this for the first game of last season as well, albeit on a smaller scale with approx 33% adult increases & getting rid of child fares for the stand but he said people in general just point blank refused to pay it at the gate as they hadn't been told anything about it in advance and the club backed down. He reckons the big announcement this time is to give people loads of notice of increases although to be announcing such huge and frankly unrealistic increases would seem to be very bad PR for the club.

Maybe it is a way around having to go out and do a bit of PR and get sponsorship, that has to be the biggest hike i have ever seen.

That's a disgraceful price increase alright. If they go through with it they are going to lose out big time. They obviously have no aspirations to increase their fan base, instead they've taken the easy option and decided to fleece their existing fans.

to be honest, i'll probably go for one of them, especially if it's an important one late on, but even at that, Drogs will getting less revenue from me than if i was to go to the two away games.

It was a joke in bad taste.
Though I am a student and can avail of the price reduction for the coming season, I do think that EUR 20 is too much to pay for an eL match at the present time.

Drog tic prices raise an interesting question -

How much is too much to watch your team?

AFAIK City are the cheapest in the league.

€10/€5/€3 rates.
