Well lads with 2 months to go to the new season is there any chance we could get together and organise a few new banners for the season ahead. maybe the CCISA and 4-5-1 COULD organise a collection, i personally would be prepared to put some time and money into any new banners. So anyone interested in getting together maybe they could poet here and let me know. If we had 20 to 30 people who could throw in lets say 20 euros we would have a nice few bob for something new.:)

How about, for the front of The Shed, a long banner saying
CORK CITY FC-1984
Or something like that?
I'll throw 20.
Keep the ball rolling...
I'll give €20
I think thats €160 so far.

I'll chip in the going rate. If someone is going to put themselves to a lot of effort again like they did last year then it will be money well spent.

I know it's 20 years in football and all isnt that just a one season effect.

It could be small enough to be affordable but big enough to be seen. Ideally we'd get a few banners.
There must be some place in Ireland where they'll print up the material for you? I wouldn't expect any fella to take a load of material home to his mammy and get her to sew it.
There's a place just beside me at work that does banners and signs etc so I'll pop into them tomorrow and suss out if they'd be able to do something up for us and see what prices they'd be asking. I might get a discount if I go in while I'm working!!!:D
I think a meeting should be organised in the next couple of weeks to sort out designs etc. If one is organised let me know and I'll be there.
How bout 'Welcome to the Capitol' for the banner?????

I like it, but it'd be 'Welcome to the Capital? Otherwise the less intelligent amongst the away fans might get confused and think they were in a USA state legislature.

We plan on getting two long banners made to fit the front of the Shed. What is written on them and what design we use is up for debate!
Check www.fourfiveone.net this weekend for different options that have been suggested to us.
Use email or text then to vote on the best two.
We will have it online Saturday night.
For the time being anyone wishing to contribute to the "Banner Fund" can lodge money to:
AIB a/c
Sort Code 93-01-21
Number 04034023
All contributions big and small are most welcome.
We will have all these details online ASAP.
Cheers,
FFO

nuthin funny about the rebel army ya know!

That would be excellent to have on one of them. I think it's best to stick with the whole Rebel Army theme, having stuff like 'Cork City est. 1984' etc is too simple and a bit boring.
CORK CITY FC est. 1984
REBEL ARMY
None of this red by the way!

As I said, it's too plain imo.
Rebel Army with something after it would be best I think.... NOTL's suggestion is brilliant.
Colours? Green with red writing would look best I'd say. I was going to say white writing but that might look too Roversesque!

The epileptics would be all over the shop !! :D
I mean, the banner I always like is the Pats one with Osam's face on it.
I like this,
especially of georgie-i mean we sing his name often enuff, he has shown us loyalty last season so lets repay him with a banner of his face/head..... a la serie A
all we need now is green smoke bombs on the front of the pitch in front of the shed as the players come out!!!

i have a good few ideas for serie A type banners which will be for individual players.....well tell all at the next meeting......watch this space!!!
as for the shed banner colour.........white background....Green writing with red border on the letters....looks well nice.....
I wouldnt just do his face, the way the Pats fans did with Osam I'd say a banner of him in action if thats possiable?
Ye have to think cost wise too lads, a banner with just writing on it is going to be cheaper to buy than one with pictures etc on them. And we want to get two of them done up

We're in the process of gathering quotes for the banners so we'll need to finalise our designs in the next couple of days. Check out FourFiveOne.net (http://www.fourfiveone.net/shedbanners.html) and let us know what ye think.
For the record, my preferences are....
For the 'Rebel Army-SHED END DIVISION' one, I think green background with white writing looks best.
For the 'Cork City est 1984' one, I reckon any of the red and white ones.
That would give a good mix of the clubs three colours with green being the predominant one on the bigger banner.
What do others think?

Vote or offer better desings...
Don't think that green and red would work together, you wouldn't be able to make out the banners from the St Annes end.
I think that Cork City-Est 1984 is a bit boring, reckon 'Welcome to the Real Capital' would annoy the dubs

Couldn't really use it at away games though as we wouldn't be in the "real capital."
How about "Rebel Army, Pride of Leeside"

LO1 I'd say

Yeah and yeah.
Agree.
"REBEL ARMY - Pride of Leeside" is good.
Get rid of the red ones though - we are green.
'REBEL ARMY - SHED END DIVISION' seems to be a popular choice with most.
However since a lot of people seem to be agreed that 'Cork City EST 1984' is a bit boring, here's a few more ideas....
To borrow a few words from Mr. Dolan!!
'REBEL ARMY - Pride and Passion'
Just like the chant!
'REBEL ARMY - Carefree'
As the lads prepare to give it their all on the pitch!
'REBEL ARMY - Prepared for battle'
Or how about a white background with...
Cork City 1984 Rebel Army

White background would get manky I'd say.
It has to be green IMO.
I like the one above though (but with green background and white and red writing)
LO1 or LO3 are the best of that lot. Is green with red writing possible?
If its designated for the front of the shed then probably good idea to have some referecne to the shed in it.
Is division a subtle take on the army & football league? ;)

Probably only if the red writing has a white border.

Thats my favourite one too. It will show the players what the fans require of them.

Keep the suggestions coming.

We hope to be in a position to order the two banners in the next couple of days.
