Maybe hyped up a little too much since they've only been on the scene a year, but not overrated (IMO). 'So much for the City' sits very nicely among any collection that includes the Beach Boys, The Byrds, Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev and Calexico (as mine does).

It's a quality album, as for the 'sure it doesn't sound irish' brigade, i'm quite happy that five dubs released the best 'american' album this year. ;)

read a couple of interviews with the band and didnt really like their attitude.i think they are up their own to be honest and the way the interview was going they were answering like they were megastars.just think they should steady on a bit and hold off on the bull til they are established

i didn't say they were as good as, but if you're in the mood for that type of music and are just throwing cd's on, the thrills keep it flowing along quite nicely.

agree that they come across as asses in interviews, but it's still a great album, the opening five or six songs are class.
