Alot of lads cant commit to the travel in the 1st division due to work commitments, the top lsl sides are on an equal par standard wise with the 1st division, the cup results of the last couple years have shown this. Shelbourne were beaten by the intermediate cup champions theres no shame in that, well done Crumlin

The last few seasons, and in fact every season has shown that the first division is far ahead of the LSL.

Of course you're going to te upsets though and just like first can beat premier, LSL can beat first. Crumlin have players who could play LOI but practically every player on Shels team would walk into Crumlin's first XI

I'm delighted for Crumlin myself

In a sense I agree, but still, LOL@ that scoreline. It's shels!

shels should be ashamed of themselves, losing to that shower

i really hate lsl teams and their "oh i could have played loi i just didnt want to, sure its a loada crap" attitudes and this will only ignite that feeling

Crumlin outclassed Shels twice!!
There are plenty of lads who choose not to play Div One football and tonight you could see why

Here are the head to heads from the cup with 1ST DIV teams v LSL teams for the last few seasons
2009: Crumlin 1 1 shels
Shels 0 1 Crumlin
17/08/08: Wayside Celtic 1 – 0 Monaghan United
27/05/06: Finn Harps 1 – 0 Crumlin Utd
12/06/05: Cobh Ramblers 0-1 Wayside Celtic

Theres a trend there, personally i think it has been proven there is no gap between the top LSL sides and the 1st div, Im talking purely Lsl now and not including Msl, Aul, Lfl or any of the other associations

I only posted the stats in response to your statement saying that results over last few years have proved 1st div is far ahead, I think you will find the results prove the opposite as above. Who cares anyway, Crumlin won Shels couldnt beat them in 2 games, they are through on merit fair play

Fair enough. I was tlaking about general non league as opposed to LSL (my fault, and you did clarify it above)

This is the first season an LSL team has won the Intermediate Cup in 4 seasons and even at that Crumlin lost their 4th round game to Arklow Town and only progressed because Arklow fielded an ineligible player.
