I thought we were poor in the first half and whether it was a goal or not, I don't know how the ref could have made up his mind so quickly. That being said, the lads went for it and showed great effort and commitment in the second half so credit to them for that. Thought Derry just tried to outmuscle us at times without ever really trying to play football. Reading the report in The Star, you'd think we didn't have a strike on target at all, didn't even mention Raf's long range effort that Doherty turned away.

Buttimer lost it a bit for the sendings off, Noctor's challenge was poor and Gray shouldn't have reacted the way he did but Rovers maybe should have had a free from the incident just before this. Good for Keohane to get more experience but he looked a little lost at times although he improved in the second half when he seemed to be moved to left back. Morrison too despite all his talent never really looked like he was interested in the game which was a real shame because there is huge potential there.

Just on Alan Moore being the physio, I know he never really set the world alight when he was with us as a player but would it be such a bad idea to register him if he was willing to do it, seeing as between injuries and suspensions etc we are so tight for numbers??

How did he end up on a 2 match suspension, does he have a certain amount of yellow cards or something ?

It has to be said that the Derry fans really added to what was a fantastic athmosphere in the second half and although out-numbered our fans made a brilliant effort in matching them.

For all its flaws, at least Friday nights match got the blood racing again.

It shouldnt take two rash tackles, a bout of hand-bags and two red cards to get things going.

My point is that if we started the match like that, and theres no reason why we shouldnt have, we might have got a draw from it.
