I was just wondering, is there any chance that supporters of L.o.I First Division clubs could sign a pettion maby on here, to get First Division games aired on M.N.S.
What do people think. First Division fans only please.
Would it not be smart to get fan's of Prem clubs to sign this thing aswell...? Unless I'm mistaken in thinking a petition is all about getting as many signatures as you can..........

There'll probably be a rival petition to keep the First Division off MNS..

I'd sign it as a perhaps-soon-to-be-first-division-fan, but I don't think it would make any difference. I wouldn't say there's the demand to justify sending 6 extra TV crews around the country when some games are only attracting 250 people.

The standard is so bad in the first division I would be against showing it every week.
I would be in favour of top of the table clashes being shown towards the end of the season.
Waterford, Fingal, Shels and UCD games amounst each other would be as good as bottom of the table clashes in the premier.

I think it would be a good idea to have one First Division game shown each week. All six games is too much, but maybe a good stadium like Flancare Park or Athlone Town Stadium would be best as they would highlight the best stadia in the league.
I'd only sign a petition to get one game on, not all six.

this is an old story and it's not going to happen first division will not be shown on MNS it has been stated several different times not that I agree with it
I like the idea however of maybe one game and maybe giving more than 2 mins to first division for example the Shelbourne - Waterford game this wkend would be an obvious choice not saying a game every wk but most. It may also be a help for new clubs like Mervue, Wexford to raise profile and of first division as a whole to have highlights shown once or twice on TV

The 1st Division simply isnt good enough. The only time i think it should be shown is when the top teams are playing each other. The rest are pure muck most of the time.

I've been to alot of games this year which have been terrible to say the least, so why would we want to show people the poor quality of games, when we're trying to get people to come and support the league?

RTE have **** all money right now and MNS is not a ratings success. Why would they send extra staff to Balleybofey and Mervue, losing more money, to keep a few disgruntled forum posters happy?

Exactly.
If we were still in boom times, there'd be a small argument for replacing the one less Premier Division game they have to show with a top First Division game, but not now. And probably not then either.

I have been to a good few too - seen Longford, Athlone, Mervue, UCD and Shels all at various times
And i have to say I think the standard is alright - sure its not English PL and hype, but it is decent enough to me
Easy to knock it just cause its the LOI -
What are you exactly looking for? -in the games i went to i saw great goals, great defenders, good players, good effort. Its the LOI, get over it!

Not a chance. As it is, there isn't enough space for actual football, as it seems each week they have to cram in...
Boys in Green/people in mullets nostalgia (just a spoonful of sugar makes the LoI go down)
Reports from London on how Ireland are getting on
It's a Knockout shot competitions
Dressing room singsongs (OK -- this week's wasn't bad) :o
'Tallaght sold out again' and other assorted Shamrockery
Obligatory Roddy reminder that the league is rubbish because he's not in it:rolleyes:
Edit: Did I say Bohs in green? I must have been dreaming. Sorry Murph!

Footage of the Premier Division is bad enough at times so no way should the FD be shown.
