Did anyone see the scorer in the Kildare v Athlone game on Saturday on Aertel? It was credited to Moran and while it would be great to think that the veteran striker is still able to find the net it would have been impossible for hime to do that on Saturday. Simply because Paugie Moran wasnt playing, not even on the substitutes bench. He was there alright but unless he ran out of the dugout and then back again he couldnt have scored. Maybe somebody is trying to save the blushes of the County player who scored the own goal? Another glorious own goal for Aertel and the clowns in RTE that ignore the first division more like it.

It was a Dean Lawrence o/g, but I didn't have that info to hand on Saturday when I was updating the scores for extratime and I had to credit it to someone so I gave it to Moran, who I knew wasn't playing.
Obviously, you can guess what happened. ;)

Even better at one stage they had the scorer down as Tyrell on 87 minutes and there was only about 60 minutes gone not to mention the fact that the goal was scored in the first half.

The goal scorer only came up at full-time. I remember looking at the score when all games were half-time, and Kildare-Athlone was 0-0. When I checked at full-time it was down as Moran '14

I see Athlone are top of the First Division (http://www.rte.ie/aertel/235-02.html) while all the Premier teams have been deducted their points...Kildare 4th...that's some turn around in fairness;).

I assumed you got promoted along with the rest of the division. I knew the overspending of the premier division clubs would be punished eventually.

All the First Division updates are rung in by people at the game (I do the UCD updates when we're at home), so by washing their hands of the First Division completely, Aertel have in a way absolved themselves of blame in errors in it; they're only putting up what they're told.
(Doesn't count for league table errors obviously)

Just wondering do ye have a Tyrell at yer club because a couple of weeks ago when Alan Keane scored for us they put up the scorer as Tyrell even though we don't have anyone by that name at the club - as far as I know anyway?

Teale was put up. Was changed later on.

Sorry Rory, you're spot on there. Do we have a Teale at the club though.
keane scored on 87. i rang it in and may have been misheard in the noisy press box. 'Teale' went up. this was spotted by a very alert journalist and it was corrected immediately. end of story

In the team news yesterday, Phil O'Donnell was ready to step into the Cork starting 11 if Gamble didn't make it.
Cork must be paying some wages to bring players back from the dead!

OK Keane and Teale both have 5 letters with three of them the same and located identically in both names but to hear Teale for Keane is a bit of an achievement in itself.:):)
It might be better to text it in the next time.

They ask you to ring in as they'll miss an e-mail/text.
yeah, calls are more instant and thats what they've always done as opposed to texts or emails tough thinking about it texts make sense as well

And in fairness, I saw the Aertel in the clubhouse in Monaghan on Friday; at half time, it was missing out missed penalty, so I rang it in, and it was updated by the time the page scrolled around again.

Not LOI connected but a disgrace all the same.
On sunday am, the lead story and in capitals on P221 was something like 'Terry targets South Africa glory'
Our game v Bulgaria was ticked away nicely down at p226
