Just thought I'd give a quick rundown of the 'A' Championship clubs' websites (or sections dedicated to the 'A' teams on the main teams' websites), just out of interest (let me know if I missed some!):

Bohemians 'A' (http://www.bohemians.ie/community/a-side.html)
Some very short match reports for some games. Seemed to have lost interest recently. No fixtures or league tables.

Bray Wanderers 'A' (http://www.braywanderers.ie/index.php?id=843)
Shows the fixtures (identical to the original League of Ireland fixture list) and 'A' squad members. No results or league tables.

Castlebar Celtic (http://www.castlebarceltic.com)
Short news articles and match reports available on the main page and archive sections. Fixtures / Results and Match Reports refer to previous seasons.

Cobh Ramblers (http://www.cobhramblers.ie/)
Fixtures, results and tables visible in right hand panel on main page. Links to match reports on main page - and a nice Statistics section and a Squad and a Gallery section. Fixtures and Results link still refers to 2008 season.

Cork City 'A' (http://www.corkcityfc.ie)
Seems to be no fixtures or league tables. There are detailed match reports hidden away in the News section.

Derry City 'A' (http://www.derrycityfc.net)
Cannot find anything on the site even mentioning the 'A' team.

Drogheda United 'A' (http://www.droghedaunited.ie)
Also, no fixtures or league tables (ermmm, not even for the first team for 2009). But there are detailed match reports in the News section, and even some photos in the Gallery section.

Dundalk 'A' (http://www.dundalkfc.com)
Cannot find anything on the site even mentioning the 'A' team.

FC Carlow (http://fc-carlow.com)
Does not seem to have any information about the current season.

Finn Harps 'A' (http://www.finnharps.com/AFixtures.htm)
The site have a page for fixtures and results, with links to match reports, also available from the News section.

Galway United 'A' (http://www.galwayunitedfc.ie/menu-items/a-championship.html)
They have a page with fixtures and results. Hasn't been updated for a while.

Sligo Rovers 'A' (http://www.sligorovers.com/)
Can't get into the site, it's classed as a reported attack site. Interesting...

Shamrock Rovers 'A' (http://www.shamrockrovers.ie/teams/a-championship-section/a-championship-fixtures)
Easy-to-find 'A' Championship section containing squad information, as well as fixtures and results. There are also results and line-ups in the News section.

Sporting Fingal 'A' (http://www.sportingfingal.ie/ResultsandFixtures/AChampionship/tabid/1400/Default.aspx)
Little info available under Teams and Results and Fixtures, but very out of date.

St Patrick's Athletic (http://www.stpatsfc.com)
Cannot find anything on the site on the 'A' team.

Salthill Devon (http://www.salthilldevon.ie/achampionship/index.html)
They have an 'A' Championship mini-site with fixtures, results, squad and management information.

Tralee Dynamos (http://www.traleedynamos.com)
They have fixtures, results, tables, links to match reports and squad information.

Tullamore Town
Do not seem to have a website.

Probably unsurpringly so, the best website out these is the Cobh Ramblers one, but honourable mentions will also have to go to Salthill Devon, Finn Harps, Shamrock Rovers and Tralee Dynamos. The others are simply not up to scratch!

OK, that killed about an hour of my time... ;)

Sligo Rovers 'A' (http://www.sligorovers.com/)
Can't get into the site, it's classed as a reported attack site. Interesting...We are having trouble with the site at the moment but we had an 'A' team section giving the fixtures/results along with the players names before the problem with the site started. Once it's all sorted it'll be back. We also have a match report from most home matches.

Good info. Thanks for the research.

Pats are developing the website and I'll try and mention this to the webmaster.

It appears ye're new site is online at the moment. http://www.carlowsoccer.ie/index.htm

Don't think of this as a criticism TopMan, more of an observation really, but I would seriously recommend losing the 'Lime Green' text colour and animated footballs. Lots of info there though. Can you conforim this as being the new Official FC Carlow site so I can include it in the match day programme this week v Ramblers.

This is the website of the Carlow and District Junior League and is not the website of FC Carlow

www.fc-carlow.com (http://www.fc-carlow.com) was the website last season and im not 100% if the same web address will be used this time around

In this day and age wouldn't ya expect Tullamore to put together some kind of website.

It's inexcusable, most decent junior and intermediate clubs around the country make a decent go of it.

Since I can't find proper updated tables anywhere, I decided to do another little bit of investigation.

I found the following sites listing tables:
LoI official site (http://www.loi.ie/index.php/matchzone/newstalk-a-championship)
Soccerway (Group A) (http://www.soccerway.com/national/ireland-republic/a-championship/2009/group-a/)
Soccerway (Group B) (http://www.soccerway.com/national/ireland-republic/a-championship/2009/group-b/)
OneFootballForum (http://www.onefootballforum.com/aleaguetables.php)
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAI_League_of_Ireland_2009_season)

Needless to say, all of them were different.

So, starting with Group A, I had a look at the club websites actually listing their team's fixtures.

According to the results on Salthill Devon's A Championship page, their record is correct on Wikipedia.

According to the results on Finn Harps's A Championship page, their record is correct on Wikipedia (one small discrepancy there - on the main page, the result on 21/7 is listed as a 1-1 with Drogheda United, if you look at the match report, it says 1-3, which ties in with Wikipedia).

According to the results on Galway United's A Championship page, their record is correct on Wikipedia (with the exception of the game v Dundalk, not listed on the Galway website, but given as a 4-1 loss on both the LoI site and Wikipedia).

I couldn't be bothered going through news sections on the other club websites, but it does seem that Wikipedia is showing the correct records for 3 teams, and the other 3 sites are showing incorrect records for those 3. I also grew bored before doing Group B, but it seemed fairly conclusive where to find the most accurate league tables by then...

(just in case anyone wanted to know..!) :)

The LOI site A League stats are a disgrace. The OneFootBallForum (http://www.onefootballforum.com) starts are corrected and equal to the Wiki site. Two originally postponed game were not accounted for.

A big update was (finally) done on the official site, so it's pretty accurate now.

There are a few results which are different to the result reported on here:

26/7 - Drogheda United A v Dundalk A
Originally reported as 1-2, but listed as 1-3 on www.loi.ie.

1/8 - Sligo Rovers A v Galway United A
Originally reported as 3-1, but listed as 2-1 on www.loi.ie. Also 3-1 on Galway United's official site.

16/8 - Shamrock Rovers A v St Patrick's Athletic A
Originally reported as 1-0, but listed as 2-0 on www.loi.ie. Also 1-0 on Shamrock Rovers' official site.

100% 1-0. It was only last Sunday.
