Why not make it everyone who are interested in keeping football in Cobh support
The team tonight we heard all the arguments the good the bad and the ugly ones.
But the most important one is to support what DH is trying to achieve whit this young squad.
Let try and save the club no matter what

Well said, I have good time for DH, he is really trying to bring on these young guys, tonight will be a big test though but like all the other games they have had this season as long as they give it their all I am happy. I suppose that is all you can ask for in the circumstances.

we lost 2-1,

could have won it, should have had at least one goal before they scored, but our lack of sharpness in front of goal has to be addressed,
we could have had 4 or 5 tonight, just need a clinical striker to put away chances,
spillane took he chance very well, we should have had an equaliser, a shot on goal the ball hit the underside of the bar, and looked to have crossed the line when it hit the ground, it bounced outwards and the ref waved play on,

unlucky again lads,

city next week in the league, anyone know what day and time its on and where itll be played.

2nd half.......much improved and deserving of a draw at the least!

Got to take your chances though!

If we are going to progress we def need a striker, seen Bruton playin for Avondale last week we need him if not someone like him,in fairness Carrigaline were rightly relegated to the 3rd tier of munster football they are poor we cant and shouldn"d hide from the fact we lost.Yes its true Hill is getting the best from these lads but we cant cope financially with another season in this league we just aren"t making money and no fundraising is going on.

i suppose once the underage leagues are finnished the lads can concenrtate solely on the A league, no playing friday and the an A game the next day,

one thing is for sure, they need the people of cobh to support them, there a great set of lads, they may be lacking in expierience at the moment, but they could play with rams for the next 10 years, think of how good they could become if we keep them together for 10 years, we could achieve great things, all that is needed is for us to support them and keep faith that they will make us proud

Spot on there DR. These players are improving every week . DH is doing a very good job. The team needs a spine of experienced players and if this is achieved this team will be involved in the play-offs come the end of the season.
To all the people who are staying away from matches (perhaps with very good reasons) I urge them to come back and support these young players.

a couple of experienced players are needed i feel to give the young lads that extra drive on the pitch (even tho stil working hard) and guidance as DH can only do so much on the sideline!i thought that DH was here to blend the youth and experience, but as of yet has not used his connections in the game to get such experienced players to play and help out the club IMO...hoping that will stil happen tho come the turn of june!!
if you were jus goin to play the young lads, wud it not be justified to hire Eddie o halloran (if he wud of wanted it) of which coached these players all the way up and helped them progress as players, and also he might not of had to be paid. It's just a thought and i understand certain decisions have been made since then, and i must reiterate that it is just a thought and im willing to trust the club,my club and our club, and DH that there making the right decisions to rebuild their status in the league of ireland and that they have some sort of a long term(ish) plan in place.
If we can get through this it'l be some achievment.

On the supporter stance, or the lack of it, i feel that there is a lot of 'sunshine' supporters, but the thing is for any club is that these supporters are needed greatly. It is money through the gate, and the only way to get them back is to achieve results with such little resources (extremely tough to do but possible) to generate success and thus get the place buzzing again, not just in cobh but cork. Half the fans that came wen we were in the premier were from outside of cobh, again sunshine supporters but they do make up the definition of a club also-to an extent.

CRFC oh way oh way oh way!!

Eddies is a away for 6 months with the Army.

DH is brining in players on 1st June, he also have a few training with him at present as far as I know.
Micky and Zico were injured last week but were at the game supporting the team like a few of the players that will be signing.
The team played well lucky not to get a win missed a few chances, if the one that hit the undeside of the crossbar from 25 yards went in I feel Cobh could have won.
Remember these are young players stepping up two grades and have been only with DH a few months. You need to be planning for the future by getting young players together and gaining the experience.
There was nothing DH could do as most of the players signed for other clubs and the transfer deadline was closed.

As the positive threads are saying COME OUT and support the team

Didnt i say that at the turn of june no???Its vital what DH does from june 1st, and i think our season and DH season really starts from then.
Exactly there young lads, thus need experience, of which you have just pointed out that is waiting in the wings-both of our statements are the same like!!

it is great to see the local team out and the underdog mentality is always good but that really was a bad result the weekend, it was the only game they prob expected to win, i hope they'l pick themselves from this and give a good performance whenever the next game is. Peter was solid and i was impressed again with the lad spillane, we seem to be getting a bit mouthy on the pitch which is never good. But hill will kick that out of them.:)

I think that Carrigaline kept playing the long ball over our midfield, I think if we took our chances we could have added two more goals.
Yes I agree it was a bad result in loosing this match again we have to remember we are months behind all other teams in training with DH over what happend at the start of the LOI season.
Peter was man of the match in defence but I feel he needs someone also to support him there he cant keep doing all the hard work.
The two goals were mistakes, mistakes that can be stopped with more coaching from DH.

As I said be positive towards the team and support them, next game I hear is changed to Sunday away to Cork City at FAI grounds 2pm ko

Sometimes you have to be negative to be positive! If someone plays bad they deserve to be told that they played bad and have to take the flack that comes with it.......unfortunately!

Would totally disagree. This is a young team and need the support of the fans behind them.
The manager is the one that should point out where they are playing bad and how to improve. If players don't improve then you drop them and bring in other players.

They have to take the flack from both the manager and the whoever else may be unhappy, for example: if someone felt it right to boo when the final whistle went last Saturday then those players would have to accept it and not turn around and say "ah stop sure were only young!"

Are you felling ok, these players are playing for nothing, young and learning week by week. They dont need to be told they ae playing bad they know it.
If they were getting €300 -€500 per weel like last years failures I say yes boo them, but last year I did not hear any of that and they got paid over and above so why start with this team.
Is it because DH if so take it out on him,, but you then have to think why is it he have not got some of last years player excluding micky .. why because they are not getting paid to play for Cobh.
As I said be positive and it will be passed on to the player and they will inprove. be negitive and they will feel it on the pitch and start making mistakes.

You should never boo them, not a hope, but with regards to them accepting critism i totally agree, we get guff in the aul, the ladies team get guff, their going to get guff, they just have to accept it, saying that i didnt hear anybody getting grief the weekend.

These young players should be treated with the respect they deserve.
Without these players we would have no team. Remember they have played two and sometimes three matches in recent weeks and kept the Cobh Ramblers club in the League. Their talent should be nourished and that means the supporters and the team management need to have a lot of patience.

The best thing we the supporters can do is to back them through thick and thin.
With these players the clubs future will be secure. That's if we can keep them.
So our motto should be steady as she goes. http://foot.ie/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

It is totally unfair to criticise these young players, I actually think it is quite insulting. These young players have been fast tracked to play at senior level because of the mismanagement of this club over the past year. They have given 100% in every game, they have been playing football since last July without a break. They travel to matches without any of the trimmings that was given to the team for the past number of years. In my humble opinion these young players are heroes, without them there is NO doubt but this club would NOT have been in a position to fullfill any of the 'A' League fixtures thereby leaving the club in a most embarrassing position of NOT being able to field a team. I spoke with Dave Hill before I went away and assured him that these players would not leave him down and they have not. I am sure that DH is also very proud of them and can see the potential that is there and hopefully he will supplement what is there with a couple of experienced players to guide them. What is for sure is that the talent is there and because the club is now on its uppers the only way forward is to develope young local players with a few experienced heads. There is no quick fix to this problem, there is definately no fairy godmother who will bail the club out.

These lads are the future of our club and they deserve the full support of the fans, not criticism.
With the right mix of experience added to this team, we have the makings of a team that will do our club proud and will achieve what we all want and that is a return to premier league football in a few years.
After watching this team play I am alot more optimistic about the future then I was a few months ago.
