I heard the name Jack Killian last night and it reminded me of that programme "Midnight Caller" about the DJ who was a bit of a detective as well.Anybody got any more of those old obscure programmes to discuss?
another two I thought of were Mannix and Sword of Justice

I liked that show and always had time for Gary Cole because of it, he went onto star int he equally obscure American Gothic, which I thought was great before they cancelled it after a fortnight, can't remember the female leads name in it, but i was quite partial to her.
Edit: Brenda Bakke was her name, imdb is great for that stuff.
The Equaliser was another of those "after Today Tonight" shows I liked, was never a fan of Hill Street Blues but IM knwo loads that rave about it.
There was a Mike Hammer spoof [completely ripping off police squad] called Sledge hammer that in my innocence i found Hilarious, that was obscure I guess.
Petrocelli - Must have taken him 10 years to build that damn house

Mcall..wasn't that the guy in the equaliser? Hill St Blues was depressing enough, but I liked it(maybe made me feel better!!). There were some good characters in it(especially Sgt Renko) Can anybody rem "Sword of Justice"? I was only a little kid but rem my brother used to let me stay up on Tuesday night to watch it when babysitting me...and the same with Mannix

That had her in one the sexiest scenes I've seen on TV. Can't beat a bit of femme fatale.
It changed half way through though and after a brilliant first 10 episodes (or whatever) it just got silly at the end.

Ya I remember it well, Tour of Duty was very good alright, caught a few episodes of it here and there again lately on FX. Not 100% but I think it's on Saturdays sometime during the day!
On another note, to continue the crime/police theme, do any of ye remember "T.J. Hooker" with William Shatner and a very young Heather Locklear??

haha, this thread is mad - got me thinking
Streethawk - really corny show, a la Knightrider, but on a motorbike - loved the show as a kid
The Prisoner - Patrick McGoohan - I am not a number - the bouncing ball was a genius addition to the show
Sledge Hammer was hiliarous - haven't seen that in years

Sledge Hammer was just brilliant. Not a Mike Hammer spoof though, far from it. Spoof of 80s US cop shows, and Dirty Harry too no doubt. Some great lines in it. "I just wanted to shoot my gun!" :D
I saw David Rasche in something just recently, an episode of Ugly Betty or something (which I didn't watch, it's ****e!)
As we seem to be concentrating more on the late night shows of yesteryear,
1. Why isn't this in TV & Film?
and
2. I give you - Night Stand with Dick Deitrich.
"Hey, I'm sick, I need help!" :D :D
(I'm at work and can't youtube!)

Here's one...."Shoestring"
Also used to love Tales of the Unexpected
Its going back a bit but does anyone remember 'Emergency' from the 70s. From what I remember it was kinda done in the same syle as CHIPS, but about paramedics instead of cops. It was a favourite of mine at the time, but i've never seen it repeated since :(
