If Galway progress it will be the next EA Sports Cup match. If they lose it will be the next league game

Is that a Jimmy White reference?

Brought my mate to his first match tonight. Poor enough game, low attendance and the away team won. He was disappointed with result but said it definitly wouldnt be his last match. Good to see when people give the league of ireland a try and end up enjoying it. Was the Galway United-UCD game by the way.
Fair play to UCD, deserved the win overall and into a semi now.

We'd have to win one more round for that.

1-1 at the RSC now
Kiely for us
Baker for them

Sorry, was away drinking tea there. :D

Great ball down the right from Alan Carey, Kiely hared in, left the defence trailing, and thumped in past Murphy.
Soft equaliser in fairness, a Bradley free wasn't dealt with and Baker tucked it away.
Fair enough scoreline so far though.

Attendance is ca 750, 618 paid in.
Bout 150 Hoops I'd have said, very decent amount for a midweek.

Haha, Twigg is just on for Purcell, 68 mins :D

Funny one just now. Just had a hop ball restart after O'Connor got a ball in the mush. Kieran Fitz knocked it back goalwards, but the wind caught it and sent it sailing over the Hoops crossbar, prompting howls of protest from the away fans!
Ehhh, no. Definitely not an attempt on goal. :D
And Amond is just on for Price - Rovers gone 3 up top.

Well Done Waterford great win. I know of some shamrock fans that expected to win the tournament.

It's nice to have some first division company in the semi-finals.

Nice to see the Cup Specialists keeping up their enviable record over the past few years.

Doesn't matter though - sure they won their Cup Final on Saturday just gone...

what a brilliant victory, great game of football. Kiely absolutely burried his effort for the first goal.
Kearney's free-kick was unreal, top left hand corner, keeper hadn't a chance.
Bring on the semi's :D

Great advertisement for LOI football at the RSC tonight, both teams actually went out to play football.Rovers probably deserved a draw, how their striker missed that chance that came back off the bar I don't know!!!!
Massive result for us though,11 games undefeated(10 wins and a draw) should give us a massive pyschological boost for Fridays game in Fingal

I think in fairness it came at Purcell a bit quick CB, he can't have expected it. Still looked an awkward attempt to hit it though.

Don't know what's going on with the attendance figure though, as of course everyone should have been counted as a paid-in this time.
Yet there was 340 in the new stand (took pics so that's a definite figure! :o), and I reckon well more than that in the old one.
As there was more in the new stand that I'd previously thought, I would reckon on at least 800 in total, if not more. Odd.

Every game is a cup final for the teams we play.

Waaaaaaaaaaterford fully deserved their victory as Rovers just didnt turn up.
Purcell missed the proverbial sitter. Great free kick for the winner.
Hopefully Rovers can get their act together again for Friday against the hardy hars.

And hopefully Ucd or Waterford can win the EA(its in the game!) cup

There was nothing like that announced with the quarter final draw anyway.

Which brings me to the standard end-of-round question - anyone know when the semi final draw is?

No, the EA Sports Cup isn't quite at Champions League organisational level yet! :D

Wexford Youths played ok last night first half started off sitting a bit deep which invited Bohs on to us even more. Started with five across the middle which never really works for us. Winters had a poor first half and little bit of double standards in some of his decisions

Started better in second half and had a great period of pressure when Doyle and Sinnott came on. Not sure of guys name but the 17 yr old playing in midfield for Bohs headed two clear off the line both from corners showing benefit of player on the post and both where excellent clearances.

Overall Bohs deserved their win and good luck in the next round.
