Now that Liam Buckley is to remain manager of Athlone Town, UCD are chasing Don O'Riordan to take up a full-time coaching role at Belfield.

Buckley signed a one-year-deal with the midlanders on Thursday night to put an end to speculation that he was bound for UCD. But their pursuit of a new man continues and O'Riordan is the new favourite.

"I know some people would think differently," Martin Moran explained to the Irish Sun, "but I though that it would be disrespectful to talk to more than one person about the job at the same time."

The prospect of managing a promising team in the top flight would certainly appeal to O'Riordan, but that is not what is on offer at College. Moran is to remain manager on a part-time basis, and the new recruit will take up a full-time coaching role.

"Don is someone who I rate highly and who is rated highly by everyone. But whether he would want to become a coach or not is another matter," said Moran.

just heard today that Moran could be staying on as part time coach/manager.
Think the person who told me read it in the Star, so it must be true ;)
