Bray have really done nothing as far as i can see to improve their lot. The ground is still dire & don't think a 1st division club rumoured to be paying almost 1K a week to a certain player can moan too much about finances.

Longford ahve shown what is possible of any 1st division club & no club would have a smaller potential support base.

We cant do anything to strengthen or squad when we have no money to buy players, Devo brought in 2 players last year on Free's - Chris O'Connor and Robbie McGuinness.

The Ground is in rag order alright, but still better than a hell of a lot of other grounds around the place. As i write this the builders are working on the new stand, which will include new changing rooms, a bar etc.......

We pay no player any where near 1k per week - fact !

Our finances are actually in a pretty good state at the moment compared to most clubs, its run on a tight budget but its working at the moment ! just no transfer funds !

That's certainly the best suggestion I've heard so far. However, it's still too soon, even bringing in an extra two clubs would be bad for the league imo simply because there are no clubs in the first division good enough in terms of stadia, footballing standard and the general way in which the clubs are run.

And isnt the 22 team league just an easy way of avoiding putting in the effort. Clubs wont have to excel and improve. They just have it handed to them

That sums it up really.
Why should these clubs be given an easy ride when clubs like City, Longford, Bohs etc have made huge efforts to improve both their own clubs and the league in general.
If these clubs are not forced to make the effort in order to get into the premier then they will never improve and will drag the entire league down with them.

Bray are run well, and have a good team, currently working on stadium.

Sligo managed to make a profit in Division One and have a good stadium, not a great team tho.

Finn Harps are well run, good team and shocking stadium.

UCD are all three but no fans.

I suppose there no quick fix. They is no way of fixing the Jackeen Overdose. Even if we had a 16 team league as things stand we'd still have more than half the teams from the Pale. Think of it you'd have;
Bohs
Shels
Rovers
Pats
Dublin City
Bray
UCD
Drogs
Kildare

Going by the Irish Sun

If there was a vote for a 10 team Premier Division - Only Shelboure and Bohs would vote for it.

Surely this spells the end of the 10 team league.

There is a lot of teams all for a 16 team league.
Next year could be very important in Div 1.
