Jeez, I wonder..
o god the guessing is killing me :p.
Has he improved since last with Limerick. He was good but at times i felt his body language gave off the signals he wasn't that interested at the time. I know he's been banging in the goals in the premier but will he bang them in in the first divsion?

Should fit right in with half our team at the moment if he's like this again but methinks he wont.
Point to prove so he has.

if scully persists with the 4-5-1 formation clarke would be best suited to be the lone striker. one of his main attributes would be strength and holding up the ball. tierney cummins etc a bit too light to be up front on there own.

Don't worry you don't need to be injury free to do well in that League anyways ;)

Junior football people do support the Limerick in the LOI. The majority of people I know from going to Limerick matches are playing or have played Junior football in Limerick so whats your point?
All Limerick fans don't have the same views of things you know that ya?

I said "find it hard" i did not say dont support lfc..Have been to a few matches the season before last and enjoyed it but found it a bit tedious at times..
i would hope that they dont all have the same views, because having dealt with some of the people involved with the present lfc ,i have found them to be a good bunch..

we can all parse posts....lets keep the full quote for context please..
the reason alot of the junior footy boys lapsed in supporting the local team was because of a multitude of factors... i know that it will disappoint the LFC posters on this forum but this forum and its like would be about #99 out of a hundred on the list of reason why peopled have lapsed in supporting LFC..

at the end of the day Eircom first division is just a fitter version of junior premier. I'll presume that you've played both League of Ireland First Division and junior premier? If not, then don't make comments like that because they're both plain stupid and ignorant. The fitness levels are higher yes, but also the overall skill levels, dedication and discipline required to play LOI are far greater. Several junior premier legends such as Ross Cosgrave and Keith Hartnett to name but a few have thought they'd grace the LOI only to find that they couldn't hack it, and they won't be the last.

Anyway, I've made my point and I'm not bringing up the stupid 'junior is better' argument again.

Can these two new lads play tonight?
Jofspring
05/06/2009, 2:53 PM
I would say so. Hopefully anyway. People are saying Clarke will be a good front man on his own so if Scully is going 4-5-1 away from home again they will need him. Cummins likes the ball at his feet so hoofing it up to him is no good. Really should be playing 4-4-2 against teams like Mervue and Athlone though. Would like Cummins and Clarke to be starting up front tonight.

Your a junior boy, post only positves about your leagues or dont post at all in others slagging them off.

Your first line makes absolutely no sense, no surprises...I'm simply alluding to the usual overly defensive comments when someone outside the clique group makes a comment.
If you think that was a slag you're miles of the pace... I was simply stating a fact, you can't afford much more than Junior converts, so why talk down about them??

i dont think anyone is talking down any individual player but do you honestly think a junior player playing in div 4a, 3a, 2b, 1a or even lower prem can honestly make a lasting impression with one of the better LOI first division teams? there is a limited pool/puddle of juniors capable of comming up to senior level and the ones that are capable have prob played under 20 or junior international already.
there is no debth of talent in junior level in LImerick or beond. As for your comment about "all we can afford" can you name a club in the LOI who can today, go out and buy a decent say....championship player? i dont know why you have to keep mentioning something that most if not all limerick supporters are all to aware of so why keep saying it?

I've made 2 posts....I really should stop mentioning it....2 times already...my Sincerest apologies..
Your comparison is similar to a Division 1 LOI player making a serious go of it in The lower Premier League/Championship(this having Division 1 LOI as a comparison to a Conference side/Lower Division 2 side.
All I'm saying and I'm fairly sure I'm right is, if you look at your last 20 or so signings you'll see a lovely little pattern of junior players signing on, and that there's really no need to talk down about Junior football as much as you do...
And I'd be fairly positive i could name upwards of 20-30 players who've push through from junior football to LOI...
So rebate from gael then....
P.S. Spell check before you post plix.

Daryl Kavanagh is a right sided defender/midfielder, with Premier experience, he's only 22 and has good promise. Ex Cobh and Waterford. Good player it seems. :D

Limerick FC is delighted to announce that Daryl Kavanagh has signed with the Club tonight from Carrick United.
A defender, Daryl has previously played with Cobh Ramblers and Waterford United.
He's a striker or can play as an attacking winger. Not a bad signing, will get a few goals for ye.
