City seniors and youths are due to play Bandon sometime in February, dates to be confirmed, Bandon don't have floodlights so I guess the matches will be played in the afternoon. These matches are part of the 'Bandon 400' celebrations, see www.bandon.ie. Bandon are fairly handy, they were recently elected to the first division of the MSL and played in the preliminary round of the FAI senior cup last season :-)

Great site!!
Bandon should stick to Rugby and Hockey.
Another high profile pre-season game for City eh?

no harm in playing teams like that for the first few games to get fitness back for more challenging games. lots of teams do it. Real Madrid always go on a pre-season tour to switzerland and play non-league teams, regularly scoring more than 10 or 15 goals. They're just handy work-outs.

Ourselves, leeds, villa and ramblers in a tournament!!

It could be called the Dublin Tournament II.:D

One other reason to have these would be to make money from it and not have to call off any league games because of it;)

Exactly. Give Fenn a chance to settle in, and give John the games he needs. Every game does not have to be competitive just yet.

Barcelona do it in Holland.
I went to see them playing Wezep.
The score was 0-14 but since it was a single digit scoreboard it reset back to 0 after 9 so the final score showed as 0-4.
The only one who couldn't score was Kluivert.
What a plank!
I can see City using 19/20 players against Bandon.
No harm to go along I suppose.

i'll take anything at the moment what with the withdrawal symptoms.
agree that we should be trying to attract a higher standard of opposition, still, a trip to Bandon will do me.

I think playing games against Bandon is a great idea, it raises the profile of the club in these county towns and hopefully will attract more supporters from Bandon to the Box on a regular basis. I remeber City played Millstreet the season before last and ever since the club has a huge support in the town. The football club down there even runs a bus from Millstreet to Cork for the bigger games. So don't knock these matches as well as providing a useful run out it attracts more support for the club.

Has it's benefit but I think a friendly with one of the teams knocked out of the FA Cup is also not a bad idea!

No harm in raising our profile and a leg-stretcher for de lads. Also it's good to be mentioned along with de likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona:D

Didn't think of it that way, but it makes sense. maybe the club could offer some comp tickets for a City league match at it?
